[Elysia Cosplay] Summer Garden Maid of Honkai Impact 3rd, Pure Vitality and Agility

This white-themed outfit's overall compatibility with colors and lighting was discussed with the photographer from the initial draft stage. We chose a sun-drenched afternoon for a Garden location shoot, paired with a hydrangea cluster in full bloom, mainly to restore that translucent and bright visual atmosphere in the frame.
The design details of the costume itself are quite sophisticated. The edges of the bubble sleeves on the upper body are stitched with black lace borders, paired with a white ruffled hair accessory, constructing a high level of layering visually. The deep-colored base material of the corset features golden square buckles, and together with the black strapped choker around the neck, these are highly recognizable elements in the overall look. The reasonable clash of deep and light colors avoids the potential monotony brought by a single white item. To fit the character setting, we selected a pink wig for trimming and styling, giving it a natural floating sense in the outdoor wind. The elf ears prop also underwent special treatment, maintaining a semi-transparent flesh texture under natural light, making the transition with the hair more natural.
Controlling the light in an outdoor shoot is quite challenging. Pure white fabric is extremely prone to overexposure under harsh light, thereby losing details. Therefore, during the shoot, we utilized the photographer's standing angles and the leaf shading of the environment to create mottled light and shadow effects. This not only preserves the details of the clothing folds and fabric texture but also ensures the translucency of the skin tone and makeup. The white long tights and black high-heeled leather shoes are highly core coordination elements. Especially in the sitting posture on the swing, the white tights can beautifully extend the leg lines under the light, while the black leather shoes balance the overall color palette, making the upper and lower body structures more stable.
The swing's inherent pearl strands and metal birdcage decorations formed an excellent scene background with the hydrangea cluster in the garden. In terms of composition, we tried various focal length expressions. The close-up half-body shots focus on depicting the collar flower decorations and the character's lightweight smile, while the full-length sitting shot emphasizes the spatial relationship between the character and the environment. When shooting, how to grasp the intensity of the faint smile on the lips is crucial. This outfit itself carries a relatively high sense of approachability, and an overly delicate expression would instead weaken its daily casual feel.
In the post-processing stage, we didn't add overly complicated filter effects but only made a slight adjustment to the blue hue of the flowers, allowing the hydrangeas to form a better color contrast with the white painted surface of the swing. In fact, the final outcome of this clear style highly relies on the pre-shoot light intake. As long as the on-site light is translucent beforehand, the post-processing touch-up work becomes much easier. To cope with the summer gusts and the intense light patches between leaves, we were constantly checking and adjusting the state of the wig and skirt hem during intervals, striving for the optimal overall state every time the shutter was pressed.
The overall structure of this outfit doesn't feature overly complex designs. Compared to armor or rigid props, it showcases softness and lightness. During the preparation period, a series of preparations were made, from finding a similar outdoor garden venue to selecting the garment fabrics. Especially in the absence of natural wind, some small techniques were utilized to simulate wind movement, making the hair strands and skirt hem look more vivid.
As an outdoor location shoot attempt with a highly changeable external environment, the entire process from costume comfort and lens coordination to the final photos was quite compact. The relaxed and joyful state presented by the overall frame is exactly the tone we initially wanted to express.
