This time, I brought my Elf Elysia cosplay costume to Hefei Dimension Gate. I woke up past 6:00 AM to get ready with makeup and styling, spending quite a while securely fastening the wig and the massive plush halo. The costume has abundant details: lots of sequins on the purple high neck, and the folds of the white puffy skirt are easy to step on while walking, so I had to be very careful with my steps. The white plush gloves have a strong presence—on the upside, they focus the visual center of gravity on the upper body, but on the downside, they easily block the line of sight or feel slightly constricting under the arms when posing for photos. The staff prop was much heavier than expected; the blue crystal at the bottom and the rainbow ring at the top reflected brilliantly under the hall lights, but holding it for a long time made my hands genuinely sore. The Anime convention venue was crowded and bustling, with numerous tripods, studio lights, and reflectors on the floor creating a somewhat cluttered background, requiring us to constantly change spots to find clean, well-lit angles. To showcase the leg lines and thigh ring, I deliberately hitched up the skirt hem slightly when standing to ensure the camera captured overall proportions. As for makeup, making the light-blue contacts look translucent took considerable time on eye makeup—matching false lashes with eyeliner was critical, and we had to watch out for flash photography washing out the makeup. During the shoot, many other cosplayers and passersby enlivened the atmosphere, though they occasionally wandered into the frame, requiring the photographer to patiently wait for the right moment. Because the skirt is short, sitting down required caution to avoid wardrobe malfunctions, and standing up meant readjusting the petticoat. Overall, while this costume looks gorgeous, high-intensity walking and standing all day at an Anime convention was physically exhausting, and the white fabric was prone to getting smudged in the packed hall. I also met several Honkai Impact 3rd fans on-site, chatting about intricate details of Elf Elysia cosplay, such as the lace on the outfit and the gems on the golden belt. Throughout the shoot, I kept adjusting poses and expressions to capture her lively, playful vibe, though a real Anime convention is full of unpredictable moments—apologizing when the staff bumped into someone, having the wig stick to my forehead from sweat, or standing under strobes for half an hour just to catch optimal lighting. Nevertheless, putting on this outfit and feeling the physical weight of the fabrics and props is part of the joy of cosplay. Over several hours wandering the exhibition, my stamina drained and my legs went numb, but seeing those captured cute moments made all the tedious preparations completely worthwhile.
