Devoting my heart and soul to cosplay, this time I chose to portray Elysia, specifically the Elysia, Lunar Grace styling from Honkai Impact 3rd. The focal point of this shoot was to showcase the dimensional layering of the garment and the lively, ethereal side of the character. For the hair, I used a light purple-pink wig styled into outward-flaring fluffy twin buns, secured with golden hairpins, pearls, and white pom-poms. The costume fabrics utilized light-sensitive white tulle and pink silk, with an oversized plush heart decoration below the neckline that was soft to the touch; the graceful drape of the fabric spread out beautifully in seated poses.
For this shoot, we selected a specular reflection mirror floor as our platform, reflecting the metal anklet accessories and strap details around the ankles as well as the folded textures of the skirt hem. A purple-blue ambient light was set up on the right side of the frame, contrasting with the warm light on the left to heighten the dreamy mood. During shooting, the prop master provided a decorative lantern with bunny ears placed in the lower left, delightfully enriching the scene's elements. Regarding accessories, the long-handled tassel prop held in hand served as a natural extension of the overall styling.
To present a more agile and lively aura, the makeup emphasized eye contours and used false eyelashes to enlarge the eyes. The tricky part of this look was securing the headpiece: because the hairstyle was voluminous with multiple components, ensuring it wouldn't shift when turning around or lowering my head required extra care. The entire shoot took a considerable amount of time, but seeing my complete reflection mirrored across the specular reflection floor made every bit of effort worthwhile. As a cosplayer, I understand that Elysia in Honkai Impact 3rd possesses a fearless passion for self-expression and a love for beauty. In interpreting Elysia, Lunar Grace, one must blend that light yet intricate classical fantasy vibe into body movements rather than rigid standing poses. Using expansive, relaxed seated poses to showcase the garment's tailoring proved to be an excellent form of expression.
Because this is a barefoot design, the skin condition of the feet and the arrangement of the metal anklets had to be especially meticulous to keep the visual clean and refined. During post-processing, we mainly adjusted the skin tones to look more translucent and radiant while preserving the original violet-pink hues. This type of cosplay photography deeply tests the synergy between photographer and model—poses aren't mechanically forced, but rather born from feeling the character's breathing rhythm. The venue utilized traditional Chinese-style lattice wooden windows as a backdrop; rather than clashing with the anime aesthetic, it complemented the look beautifully when bathed in the purple-blue ambient glow.
To coordinate with the costume, sheer pink chiffon drapes were spread across the floor, unifying the color saturation of the entire space. It is worth noting that the biggest hazard of mirror shooting is accidental exposure or awkward reflections; one must constantly monitor the placement of the skirt hem and legs to ensure a complete composition without messy refractions. Cosplay is inherently all about details. Every accessory of this outfit, and even the direction of every strand of hair, was crafted to align as closely as possible with the original design. In the world of Honkai Impact 3rd, Elysia has brought players immense warmth and joy; being able to recreate her as an Elysia Cosplay is an immensely rewarding experience. Through these photos, with the aid of mirrors and soft lighting, I sought to showcase her confidence and elegance, hoping the seated compositions allow viewers to fully appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship of this styling.
