This time cosplaying Robin, from preparation to the final presentation, I put a lot of thought into restoring the texture in the original artwork. The most time-consuming part of the entire outfit was the choice of fabric. To present that lightweight yet glossy blue-purple gradient effect, I compared several materials and finally selected a satin fabric with a micro-shimmer to make the outer pleats. For the white part of the skirt hem, slightly stiffer organza was used as a base so that it could support the starry sky pattern and golden piping on the outer layer. The star decorations on the clothes weren't directly printed on; instead, they were individually made using UV resin and glitter, then glued on piece by piece, creating different refraction feels under the light.
The shoulder wing accessories were a minor difficult point in this production. To achieve a natural transition of the white-purple gradient, I first cut out the shape of each feather piece, then colored them with an airbrush, and hand-blended the edges. Transparent shoulder straps were needed for wearing; to make the wings look like they grew directly from the shoulders, I did some feather shielding treatment at the joints. The starlight choker around the neck utilized lightweight resin and metal accessories, and the main starlight in the middle was shaped, polished, and colored by myself using clay, paired with pearl chains to make it look as exquisite and heavyweight as possible.
For the wig part, to achieve that volumized yet not overly bulky effect, I used two wigs of different color tones for mixed trimming. The silver-blue on top and the light purple at the ends needed to blend naturally. During trimming, the inner layer was thinned out, the outer layer retained some layering, and finally, setting spray was used to fix the hair strands' direction. In terms of makeup, to match the character's temperament, I wore grayish-green contact lenses, placing the focus of the eye makeup on lowering the eyelids and highlighting the aegyo-sal, dotted with some fine rhinestones around the eyes to add a bit of a dreamy feel. The halo prop on top of the head was spliced using three circles of acrylic rings, with reflective stickers attached to the inside, and iron wire used for an invisible floating structure at the connections.
During the shoot, to highlight the texture of the clothes and the purple tone, I chose side-backlighting around 3 PM, letting natural light filter through the window so that the texture of the hair strands and the gloss of the clothes could be captured exceptionally well. Wearing all the full-body accessories is actually quite complicated, especially adjusting the position of the halo and the balance of the skirt, and one must be careful not to let the wings get stuck while walking. Although this set of photos is mainly from a selfie perspective, different light and shadow angles were also tried, hoping to convey Robin's quiet yet slightly mysterious feeling. The process of meticulously refining details is tedious, but seeing the effect of the final photos makes all the previous efforts feel worth it.
