The photoshoot teaser for Evanescia from Honkai: Star Rail is finally here to meet everyone. While I often joke about being a dump truck, when it came to stepping into this outfit, I genuinely wanted to deliver a soft, fragrant visual impact. Pre-shoot preparation took quite a long stretch of time. Once the wig arrived, I spent several evenings trimming and styling it. The pink strands needed distinct layering and voluminous lift, and the placement of the red-and-white rabbit ear accessories and cherry blossom hairpins on the side was refined repeatedly to ensure dimensional presence from every angle.
Regarding the wardrobe, the white jacket looks fantastic under studio lighting; the red ribbon bow at the collar serves as an eye-catching focal anchor, complemented by the black choker to add depth. The lower ensemble features a dark pleated skirt with solid metallic buckle detailing on the belt. Echoing the styling, I specifically paired Black stockings adorned with gold prints alongside black ankle boots. Over-the-knee socks flatter leg lines visually, and beneath studio lights, the stark contrast between the black stockings and white jacket solidly grounded the frame's center of gravity.
The third full-body mirror selfie was taken during shooting downtime; the pink-and-white longsword prop actually carries notable heft. To swing it naturally on camera, I practiced grip postures and wrist angles extensively beforehand. Though it looks like a delicate blade, executing weightless, dynamic motions demands a braced core to prevent bodily stiffness. While the studio background is a bit chaotic, this behind-the-scenes perspective offers a genuine look at the prop proportions and real-life styling.
The first half-body close-up experimented with a purple folding fan semi-veiling the face. Under warm lighting, the fan's patterns paired wonderfully with the pink wig. When tuning facial light and shadow, the photographer highlighted the purple contact lenses and eye makeup to ensure crisp precision under macro framing. I adjusted the distance between the fan and my face continuously—obscuring enough to weave mystery without stifling the frame—and I'm delighted with the outcome.
As for the popular dump truck persona, the costume aesthetic actually leans airy and spirited; thus, posing incorporated buoyant, forward-leaning momentum. Reconciling this soft, cute styling with the character's impactful presence was our central creative challenge. The second selfie in the mall hall captured the natural daylight look of the makeup, hair hue, and fabric textures under everyday conditions.
These three images are merely an appetizer. During retouching, I collaborated closely with the artist to preserve fabric weave and makeup textures without plastic smoothing, hoping viewers appreciate the thoughtful details on the garments and props. The full set is in full production, and more angles and behind-the-scenes moments will follow shortly.
