[Sparkle cosplay] The Rabbit-Eared Girl in Honkai: Star Rail

This styling of Sparkle is an attempt I've been extremely fond of recently. To be honest, when I first saw the character's concept art, what attracted me the most was that highly recognizable silver twin-tails and rabbit-ear headpiece. To do a proper Anime recreation of this look, the entire preparation cycle—from costumes, wigs, and props to makeup—was actually not short at all, but today I can finally share this set of photos.

The main body of the costume this time adopts a very striking red-and-black color scheme. The white wavy lace edges on the chest and hem, along with the checkerboard patterns on the cuffs and skirt hem, don't look cluttered despite the numerous elements; instead, they carry that unique sense of layering characteristic of anime styles. The black collar worn around the neck, paired with a golden four-leaf clover metal accessory, serves as a visual highlight of the entire neckline area. The tailoring design of this outfit is also very interesting: the loose cuff treatment makes it convenient for me to brandish my props, while the length of the skirt hem perfectly showcases the combination of thigh rings and Martin boots, giving the overall cut a flowing feel while maintaining a touch of crisp, sharp coolness.

For accessories, I specially ordered this silver-white long wig. Because the hair volume is immense and it features twin-tails, just styling and setting it took quite a lot of time. I was particularly afraid of the wind messing it up during the shoot, so before exporting the photos, I specially used a curling iron to treat the slight curls at the hair ends, hoping to present a fluffy and natural effect without appearing heavy or messy. Complemented by pink colored contacts and a matching eyeshadow palette, along with a dash of a red diamond emblem embellished at the corner of my eyes, the entire makeup look isn't actually overly exaggerated. Yet, when combined with the gaze, it easily captures that quirky, playful, and slightly bewitching demeanor of the character.

During the shoot, holding this long staff prop and that red heart-shaped bunny bag actually added a lot of difficulty when posing. I had to keep the character's overall posture natural while ensuring the props in my hands displayed their proper states in front of the lens, all while avoiding having the props block my body lines; I had to grind through several sets of movements with the photographer. This time, the scene was chosen in an arcade filled with a street atmosphere and a motorcycle graffiti wall background. The neon lights and red-and-black color clashing of these elements perfectly set off that cyber feeling where fantasy and reality interlace.

My personal favorite from this photo set is the one where I'm sitting on a red metal storage locker. The word "PAYLOAD" is printed on the locker box, matching the costume's colors perfectly. The posture of sitting on it with legs crossed not only naturally displays the leg lines and the Martin boots on my feet, but the overall atmosphere also appears very relaxed and casual. Paired with casually holding the ID tag and props, and a facial expression bearing a subtle touch of coolness or scrutiny, it feels like the moment that best embodies the character's personality. Therefore, I chose that photo as the cover this time. The other standing poses and close-up features also have their own highlights; the one next to the motorcycle beautifully creates a sense of motion through the wide sleeve hems.

Participating in this "Honkai: Star Rail Creator Incentive Program" and having the opportunity to present this character in a visual form has been highly rewarding as a cosplay experience, whether in terms of hair and makeup restoration or control over the ambient atmosphere during Cosplay photography. Although shooting in this outfit during summer was indeed stiflingly hot, seeing the resulting final photos makes everything feel completely worth it.
