[Robin Cosplay] Tranquil Weekend Moments in Honkai: Star Rail

Coming to meet everyone on Monday with the results of the weekend shoot! I was out running between studios all day yesterday, and though I was completely exhausted by the time we wrapped up, the moment I saw the retouched photos this morning, I instantly felt all the running around was totally worth it. Just in time for Monday work, sharing some relaxing and healing photos to change up everyone's mood.

The character I cosplayed this time is Robin from Honkai: Star Rail. When I first saw her official design, I was instantly drawn to her ethereal, tranquil, and slightly dreamlike aura. The silver-blue long hair, the bright little halo atop her head, and the snow-white feather wings on both sides of her shoulders combine to form a highly recognizable look. To accurately recreate Robin's look, I spent a long time picking out the wig. The strands needed to have a light, glossy pale blue-purple shade, and the hair volume had to be thick so it could scatter under the lights with a starry, airy feel. During the shoot, the long strands even fluttered with my movements, scattering before the lens to create a remarkably romantic visual atmosphere.

Regarding outfit details, what I love most about this gown is its sense of layering. The dark blue neck ornament paired with a gold badge, combined with the elegant white satin on the chest and dark purple puff sleeves, creates a color-blocked combination of blue, white, and purple. The costume surface is also sewn with four-pointed star ornaments—some featuring fine glitter, others as metal pieces—and these clever details give the entire dress great texture under the studio lights. A fun detail is the pair of white gloves, which feature delicate 3D embossed patterns that look like soft lace or fine armor visually, making them extremely photogenic.

The venue for this shoot was Huiying Space, and I am truly grateful for this hidden gem of a studio. Having been to many studios before, Huiying Space's set design fit this Robin theme perfectly. The studio features a dedicated dark forest atmosphere backdrop, where dappled tree shadows paired with cool, quiet blue lighting make you feel as if you're standing in some quiet corner of the universe. The ambient light was soft and cool, falling on the subject to make both skin and costume fabric appear exceptionally delicate and three-dimensional. Plus, this studio happens to be very close to my home—I'll definitely prioritize coming back to this wonderful spot whenever a suitable theme comes up.

The photographer and post-production artist in charge of this shoot was Su Ziqing (from Chengdu Five Sus). Su-laoshi's photography style has always been very delicate with a strong focus on light and shadow, particularly excelling at capturing the gentle side of subjects. Whether it was the holy and serene atmosphere of closing my eyes in prayer in the first photo, or the natural and elegant smile while holding a book and looking at the camera in the second photo, Su-laoshi was able to accurately capture the posture that best fits the character's charm. The light, shadow, and tone processing in the final images are also top-tier—those magical light particles glimmering like stardust in the background truly elevated the aura of the entire set to the max.

Additionally, the third photo counts as a fun little behind-the-scenes moment. Mid-shoot, there was a minor issue with a prop, so to maintain the best makeup state, several hands holding loose powder brushes, lipsticks, and eyeliners suddenly reached out around me as everyone joined forces to help me do an emergency touch-up. I was holding a patterned round mirror myself, and being surrounded and "serviced" by the team is a hilarious memory looking back. There was also a glowing butterfly effect beside me, adding even more dreamlike flair. This photo instantly brought the otherwise serious and formal setting back to reality, filled with vivid human warmth and pure shooting joy.

As a cosplayer, every time I produce a set of photos, I hope to faithfully portray the character's temperament as much as possible while bringing visual enjoyment to everyone viewing the pictures. This Robin photoshoot experience was fantastic, with overall makeup, styling, and lighting coordination going smoothly. I hope everyone can feel that unique romance and serenity of the Honkai: Star Rail world through these images.
