[Cyrene Cosplay] Romantic Resonance in Honkai: Star Rail

Releasing Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail to meet everyone this time feels like a personal sense of fulfillment. From the moment I decided to cosplay her, early preparations took a long time—especially the white ring headpiece and the vine-like decorations wrapped around it. To achieve that floating, lightweight feel, we used a special carbon fiber skeleton with 3D-printed connectors inside, hand-gluing each petal and bead decoration one by one. The wig is a custom light pink long curly style that needed to remain fluffy without looking frizzy. To fit the character's pink-haired elf features, I used extended silicone ear covers with foundation and concealer blended along the edges so it wouldn't reveal any flaws in front of the lens.

The white base with purple trim colorway looks simple, but the tailoring and hollowed-out design wasted a lot of fabric during production. To avoid a bulky look for the petal-layered structure at the collar and shoulders, the spacing of each layer was adjusted, ultimately yielding an ethereal yet crisp texture. The posture of holding hands joined together seems casual, but it actually showcases the gradient pink-translucent nail art on the fingertips and the lace-like cutouts on the wrists. During post-production editing, I deliberately retained the lighting shadow depth so the white clothing could show three-dimensional depth against the grey background rather than flat white.

Speaking of Cyrene, I preferred to recreate her sense of obsession. The caption quote mentioned, \"33,050,336 calls, and this romance remains just like our first encounter,\" happened to touch my understanding of this character. She carries a gentle sense of fragile beauty and a strong sense of conviction. During studio cosplay photography, I repeatedly adjusted my gaze angle, hoping to present a soft yet steadfast feeling rather than an empty stare. The photographer used a cool-toned top light at this angle, perfectly hitting hair highlights and making the overall frame much lighter, seamlessly fitting the character's ethereal temperament. I kept adjusting my breathing during the shoot to remain relaxed yet focused, allowing the camera to capture natural moments aligned with character settings.

For overall makeup, I deliberately avoided heavy eyeshadow, choosing a gradient blending of light purple and light pink instead. The focus was put on the eyeliner and eyelashes to elongate eye shapes for a more spirited gaze. Matte nude pink was applied to lips for a clean finish without color clash against the white outfit. Although beautiful, this outfit is quite inconvenient to put on and take off—layers of ruffles, skirt hems, plus a long white veil mean walking always requires holding one's breath. Luckily, the shoot went smoothly, and the photographer and I synced up quickly. Looking at the final edits now, all previous troubles were completely worth it—especially those cut-out flutter sleeves, where picking the right material kept them from collapsing.

I have other shooting schedules tomorrow, but typing these words at night brings back memories of this photo set. Many times, anime cosplay is not just changing into a costume, but an emotional and aesthetic resonance. Cosplaying Cyrene this time allowed me to put my own subtle obsession into these frozen frames.
