This shoot showcases an Odette cosplay set from Genshin Impact. The visual emphasis was placed squarely on capturing the intricate garment craftsmanship and sculpting the scenic atmosphere. In terms of styling, the wig was cut into a softly curved, light blue bob, crowned with an elaborate headpiece blending white and gold tones, complemented by a dimensional teardrop gem adorning the forehead. To match the character's regal presence, I opted for purplish-red colored contacts with soft gradient eyeshadow transitions.
The costume is structured around a dark blue tube top, with golden hollow-carved metallic chest accents and a white fluffy neck bow serving as the centerpiece. Detached blue sleeves embellished with diamond jacquard patterns and golden piping frame the arms, leading to dark blue long opera gloves. The skirt incorporates a tiered design—an outer layer of translucent white gauze over a dark blue underskirt, adorned along the flank with heart-shaped gems and trailing ribbons. The lower half is styled with white pantyhose and white heels, creating a cohesive, unbroken color scheme.
Setting up the scene was remarkably time-consuming. To complement the cool-toned blue and white palette, we arranged a white wrought-iron bench and Roman column planter pedestals beneath a suspended crystal chandelier. The floor was covered with a white plush carpet, generously surrounded by blue blooms, lush greenery, and a white birdcage filled with botanicals. In terms of lighting, the photographer adopted a high-key approach, utilizing a diffused key light softbox to cast a luminous, gentle glow while tuning fill lights to soften shadows, allowing the blue and white tones to appear exceptionally crisp and pristine.
For the posing, I alternated between side-sitting, crossed-leg, and kneeling postures to flatter the layered silhouette of the dress and accentuate the leg lines. Sitting sideways required keeping my spine upright, extending my legs naturally forward, and pointing the toes to elongate the frame. Hand gestures alternated between resting on the chin and lightly brushing the cheek, with my gaze softly tracking the lens to maintain a relaxed expression. Achieving the desired skirt curvature meant readjusting the petticoat and plush rug with every single change in position. Despite the chill under the cool studio lights, capturing the full splendor of this intricate ensemble and its dreamy backdrop made for a profoundly rewarding shoot.
