[Sunna Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Gamer Girl Studio Shooting Log

Here are the final studio photos of my Sunna cosplay from Zenless Zone Zero! While it's fresh off the press, I wanted to quickly organize the photos and share some thoughts during the shoot.

First, let's talk about accuracy to the character's design. The gradient mint green hair really pops under the lighting, and combined with the cartoon stickers on my forehead and cheeks, it gives off a strong cyber/electronic feel. The outfit has many layers—from the white lace short-sleeved shirt to the black knotted skirt, pink backpack, and choker. Every little accessory aims to recreate that energetic yet slightly rebellious vibe from the game. The most cumbersome part was actually the giant megaphone prop. It really completes the look, but balancing it in my hand took a lot of wrist strength.

As for costume details, my favorite part is the asymmetrical leg design. One side features a pure white over-the-knee sock with a distressed/ripped look, while the other side is a pink-and-white striped slouch sock with straps wrapped around the thigh. Paired with heavy white platform shoes, the visual center of gravity feels very solid. Although putting it on and taking it off took quite a while, the vibe completely transformed once I put it on. The arm sleeves are also detached, with pink and white stripes echoing the star details on the tie, making the color palette stand out brilliantly.

Regarding the shooting process, the studio set was super cyberpunk. There was a metallic step platform, a background monitor displaying a glowing orange letter \"S\", and red-and-blue banners overhead. The light hitting my face was soft, but the reflection off the props was sharp, creating a high-end texture through this contrast of light and shadow. The photographer @Meat is very experienced at capturing dynamic shots—doing plenty of poses standing, raising hands, and squatting. My personal favorite is the third photo where I'm standing with one hand on my hip while holding the prop, as it displays all the elements of the outfit fully without looking stiff.

Because I pulled an all-nighter to pull this together, my state of mind was actually pretty tired. At one point, I almost dropped the megaphone and bumped into the camera! That megaphone looks badass when held, but its center of gravity is way off. Trying to maintain composure and expressions while holding it was tough—if not for the costume boost, I probably would have looked like an exhausted worker. Luckily, the final result turned out super sweet and cool.

The venue at FUTA Photo Studio (Xunlimen branch) was utilized very effectively. The background screens and metal frames perfectly fit Zenless Zone Zero's chaotic yet energetic New Eridu urban wasteland aesthetic. Honestly, shooting a cosplay photography with large props requires serious physical stamina, especially when you have to hold them while wearing heavy platform shoes. Behind every casual-looking photo was awkward stumbles and multiple retakes.

During the final retouching phase, I carefully adjusted the color balance to make the mint green hair and pink-and-white outfit colors even brighter, aiming to highlight the light, airy visual sensation of Sunna's outfit without feeling too heavy. This techwear outfit with cartoonish attributes is truly photogenic. My legs went numb standing for so long during the shoot, but seeing the final photos made it all worth it. Even though the studio shooting log was rushed, I absolutely love how the post-production turned out. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this Zenless Zone Zero Sunna cosplay—from the gear to the styling, it hit every single one of my aesthetic preferences.
