[Tingyun cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Convention Photos of Fugue Cosplay

The Tingyun Fugue Cosplay look captured on-site at the anime convention has finally been organized, so let's cut straight to the chase and take a look at this set of Convention photos.

The dark, wide-sleeved garment of this Fugue Cosplay costume has a heavy overall texture. The subtle damask patterns on the fabric require specific lighting angles to be visible, so during shooting, we specifically utilized the circular overhead lights at the convention venue to enhance the fabric's layering. Supporting the pair of beast ears on the head took quite a bit of effort—they needed to stand securely on top of the head without crushing the hair roots at the wig crown. The section splicing two pieces of white plush with outer dark fur was manually adjusted many times to ensure it didn't look messy on camera. The red gradient highlights in the hairstyle are a major focal point; since long hair easily covers facial contours, I adjusted my head angle during Cosplay photography to reveal that touch of red as much as possible.

The unfolding angle of the prop folding fan was also repeatedly adjusted; a half-open state allows the red-and-white pattern on the fan face to show while ensuring the pendant's red tassel drapes naturally. The golden trim along the fan ribs visually echoes the gold thread piping along the collar and shoulders of the outfit, preventing the overall dark scheme from looking dull. The metallic green floral leaf ornament on the chest serves as the visual centerpiece of the entire look; I specifically wiped its reflective surface very clean beforehand so the highlights at the convention would give it a beautiful luster. That fluffy pure white tail occupied a large proportion of the frame during Cosplay photography; to prevent it from looking bulky, I unconsciously turned my body slightly sideways toward the camera when standing.

For makeup, to align with the character setting from Honkai: Star Rail, the green-eye makeup enhanced the color saturation on the upper eyelid, paired with a wash of orange-red smudging under the eyes and across the cheeks, allowing the face to maintain three-dimensional depth even under strong convention lights. Due to heavy foot traffic, clearing the background entirely during shooting was practically impossible, so we made full use of blurred circular light sources in the background as depth-of-field accents, where scattered white highlights framed the character nicely for these Convention photos. The red nail polish overlaid with the red spliced patches on the clothing, while hand movements holding the fan maintained an elegant and casual tone rather than forced posing.

With a combination of beast ears and long hair, top-heaviness is hard to avoid. Walking and moving between spots required stabilizing head movements, which is why my fan-holding action appeared relatively composed—it was actually to maintain balance! Although the wig had minor flyaways cleaned up in post-production, it mostly retained its natural, fluffy state from the convention site without over-retouching. The entire Cosplay photography process moved at a fast pace, completing main composition snapshots in about ten minutes because lighting on site changed by the minute. Matching every prop and makeup detail was the result of seamless teamwork with the photographer, aiming not for exaggerated atmospheres, but simply capturing the character's genuine demeanor quietly and accurately.
