For this convention, I finally put on this blue and white cosplay outfit that I had been planning for a long time. From the wig styling to every single wrinkle, ruffle on the clothes, as well as the leg straps and gem decorations, everything was adjusted by myself bit by bit. The shooting day was actually quite a rush; we jumped around several real-scene studios, including an industrial-style background with metal gears, a wooden high platform surrounded by flower vines, and we even shot close-ups under a palace-style chandelier. Finally, before packing up, I snapped a photo with several hilarious fellow coser friends. The combination of that purple big hammer and mask was just too funny; that snapshot of me crouching on the ground covering my head truly felt so alive with the on-site presence.

The most satisfying parts of this costume are the tailoring of the coat and the blue tassels at the waist, which look exceptionally flowing when walking around. The small top hat worn has different vibes whether folded or held in hand; the white mesh and lace on the brim really soak up the details. During the shoot, the photographer kept reminding me to adjust my posture, especially in those few shots sitting on the steps, to look natural while revealing the leg lines, while also paying attention so that the skirt hem wouldn't get stuck by the steps. In terms of props, besides the hat, that small white curved hook actually carries a nice hand-feel, and holding it alone to strike some poses makes it look more agile.

The foot traffic at this convention was much larger than I expected, especially on that circular platform in Figure 4, where the background was entirely filled with queuing and passing tourists. Being able to capture a relatively quiet photo in such a noisy environment was truly not easy. Moreover, the lighting on that day was quite complex, with color temperatures varying a lot across different scenes; a cool-toned palace background like the one in Figure 5 actually complements this blue costume much better.

As a coser, I actually enjoy transforming a flat character style into a three-dimensional real-life presentation more. Even if it's just the silhouette of a profile or the golden piping on the cuff, I hope to restore that sense of exquisiteness as much as possible. The most interesting part of convention photos is that you can see the effects vary greatly when shot with different backgrounds and combinations, which is why I picked these few photos from different scenes to post. Although the multi-person interaction in Figure 6 features a sudden change in art style, I find it incredibly interesting; conventions are inherently places filled with such randomized joy. Although it was exhausting this time, being able to appear in a favorite set design wearing a favorite costume, and then messing around with friends, makes it all completely worth it for this roleplay experience, delivering a wonderful piece of Anime-style photography.
