The experience at this anime convention was indeed much quieter compared to before. At most five people asked to take photos together, and no photographers took the initiative to snap photos of me, so I stayed in one spot having fun taking pictures on my own for over an hour before heading out. However, even with no crowd around, this authentic convention atmosphere made me feel completely relaxed and at ease, allowing me to immerse myself in my character with zero pressure.
I put a lot of effort into the details for this Klee Blossoming Starlight outfit. First, regarding this oversized hat—because of its wide brim, it took considerable effort to position at the right angle during photos. Coupled with the backlighting, the sunlight penetrating through the strands of hair created a gorgeous halo effect. For the wig, I specifically trimmed the curve of the bangs to fit my face shape better, and carefully adjusted the position of the red bow and gold ornament on the forehead. The large red bow on the chest was richly colored in the sunlight, with the clover metal buckle in the middle looking very high-quality, and the black lace trim along the edge was the exquisite touch I was most satisfied with. I initially thought about pairing the overall look with stockings, but later realized that this combination of cuffed white shirt and red skirt actually showcases the vitality and lightness of Klee in Genshin Impact much better.
Because of the small crowd, the small props I brought also came in handy—like the plushie hugged in my arms, which definitely enhanced the cuteness of the whole look. The light happened to be side-backlit, so without having to deliberately strike too many poses, casual candid shots or taking photos with my phone like this produced a very clear, luminous feel. In fact, when doing cosplay, not having an audience actually allows me to experience the character itself more deeply. Perhaps it's because the popularity of Genshin Impact has cooled down a bit recently, resulting in fewer fellow fans showing up, but this quiet cosplay photography experience gave me more time to feel the texture of the fabric and see if the props coordinated well.
Without photographers snapping photos this time, I found a spot with good lighting on my own and experimented with adjusting angles—such as tilting the hat brim low for a profile shot, or holding the plushie while looking at the camera—thoroughly enjoying this personal time of my own. This sense of self-sufficiency felt wonderful too; after all, the entire process of putting thought into preparing this outfit was a joy in itself. Taking my time with my own equipment and props to document my most authentic state, and looking through the photos after leaving, I felt the trip was entirely worthwhile. Next time I run into such a quiet setting, I'll still bring a cosplay I love and fully enjoy this kind of anime convention daily life of my own.
