[Nefer cosplay] Genshin Impact Convention Photos: Sharing Shooting Insights and Details

This set of Genshin Impact Nefer cosplay Convention photos is one of my most satisfying recent works.

The dark green velvet top has fantastic texture; paired with the metal pieces on the pauldrons and the emerald ornament at the collar, it delivers an exquisitely gorgeous feel. The two blue-green gradient ribbons on the back are made of soft material, fluttering naturally during dynamic poses to add visual tension to the frame.

The styling challenge lay in the claw accessories on the hands and the metallic high heels on the feet. The long gloves were quite stuffy to wear, and the metallic claws hindered dexterity, requiring great care with hand movements while posing. The high heels have rigid soles and stiletto heels, easily causing foot pain after standing for a long time; to keep the leg lines looking flattering, I placed weight mainly on the balls of my feet, making the lines of the legs and insteps smoother. The black thigh ring worn over the Stockings worked exceptionally well, visually adding a touch of allure while echoing the details of the shoes and waist.

On the convention day, there was heavy foot traffic, making background selection tricky. The photographer found a relatively open corner and used a wide aperture to blur out the complex steel framework and lighting in the background. The first seated pose on a high stool wasn't easy to make look natural, so I adjusted the angle between my thighs and torso as much as possible to extend the legs toward the edge of the frame. The second crouching pose perfectly showcased the overall layering of the costume, especially the gloves and ribbons. The third side-lying pose utilized the perspective distortion of a wide-angle lens, elongating the leg lines and making the sheen of the Stockings and metallic shoes especially prominent.

In terms of makeup, the cyan-blue short wig was paired with a golden forehead ornament and elf ears, along with a red teardrop makeup specifically drawn beneath the right eye, making the face appear more coolly glamorous. During shooting, I attempted to express an aloof, commanding sense of mystery through my gaze—occasionally looking directly into the lens or staring into the distance, striving to capture the soul of the character.

The most troublesome prop to manage was the ribbons; stepping on them multiple times slowed down the shooting progress, requiring friends to help hold them. Post-processing color grading mainly highlighted the red teardrop makeup and silver reflections without exaggerated liquefaction or over-retouching, preserving the authentic definition of muscle lines as much as possible.

We actually experimented with many versions of poses, considering skirt length and shoe positioning to avoid wardrobe malfunctions. These three photos were what I felt struck the best harmony between facial angles and body lines. Having a deep understanding of the character's personality is immensely helpful for pulling off flattering and natural poses. Whenever cosplaying characters with many rigid accessories, the physical toll is quite heavy, but seeing the light and shadow in the final photos brings a sense of accomplishment that completely outweighs the fatigue.
