The convention was bustling with crowds, so taking advantage of a brief lull, I found a black platform in a corner of the exhibition hall to sit down and rest. This custom black-and-white maid outfit is packed with details—the black lace and ruffles around the collar are exquisite, while the puff sleeves and cut-out waist keep the silhouette from feeling too heavy. What I love most is the leg styling: white stockings paired with a wide black thigh band and a thin strap, creating a White silk thigh garter ensemble that visually elongates the lines. The low-angle shot accentuated this advantage perfectly; resting my foot on the platform with a beckoning finger gesture was naturally struck to stabilize my balance, yet the resulting photo turned out unexpectedly great.

The convention lighting was quite chaotic, with industrial overhead lights prone to casting harsh shadows. During shooting, I specifically asked the photographer to use a reflector for facial highlights to keep the complexion translucent while avoiding blown-out reflections on the white stockings. For a prop, I had that long white item resembling a sword sheath. I originally wanted to pose swinging a sword, but fearing accidental bumps in the crowded hall, I simply held it in hand or rested it by my side. Every time I wear a look requiring numerous accessories, putting it on and taking it off is the biggest headache—the straps and lace petticoats alone took an hour. But seeing the drape of the skirt and the defined contour of the thigh garter in the final photos made the early-morning fuss completely worthwhile in this Cosplay photography session.

Initially, the skirt was intended to be fluffier, but for ease of walking, we changed it to an asymmetrical irregular cut, which ended up looking even more effortlessly casual. White stockings easily pick up dust when walking around a convention, so I wiped them down with wet wipes after every angle, but paying attention to these details is essential for the best final output. The silver-white wig at the back uses heat-resistant fiber; although smooth, it tangles easily, but luckily the air conditioning was strong enough that wearing it for two hours wasn't too stuffy. The low-angle upward perspective heavily tests leg line control—knees and ankles must remain relaxed, or they look stiff. This shot captured that relaxed moment, with my foot resting on the platform and the black thigh garter on the outer thigh positioned right at the visual center, creating a striking black-and-white contrast against the pure white base.

The beauty of conventions lies in meeting fellow enthusiasts and complimenting each other's styling details—even just exchanging a nod while passing by fills you with passion. After the event, the first order of business upon getting home was thoroughly removing makeup and washing the wig, but next month's expo is already booked, where I might try a completely different style. My photography friend mentioned that the lighting and composition of these photos make great profile pictures. I personally love the second low-angle shot; although it looks slightly provocative, I was honestly just thinking: 'My legs are tired, let's wrap this up and grab dinner.'

The waist cincher of the costume was quite tight, but enduring it was necessary for a flattering waistline, plus remembering to keep my core engaged while posing. Behind every seemingly casual set of convention photos lies countless adjustments to angles, skirt adjustments, and wiping away sweat. Yet that's part of the fun of cosplay—transforming into another persona, even if just for a single day.
