[Sangonomiya Kokomi Cosplay] Genshin Impact Kigurumi Bunny Girl Multi-Scene Shoot Record

This time, I'm bringing a Kigurumi style bunny girl look of Sangonomiya Kokomi from Genshin Impact, an attempt I've been wanting to shoot for a long time. Before deciding to do this look, my biggest struggle was actually how to balance Kokomi's original gentle, soft oceanic elements with the playful feel of a bunny girl outfit. In the end, we settled on a costume design with gradient blue-purple tones, paired with a wig fading from pink to light purple, aiming to stay as close as possible to the characteristic colors of her original design.

Outfit preparations required a lot of effort. The internal support for the bunny ears used thick structured foam so that even when walking around, the ears remain upright and firm. The deep blue choker around the neck and the jewel pendant above it added a touch of elegance without feeling plain. The off-the-shoulder design of the top, combined with white ruffles and a deep blue bow, nicely highlights the collarbone and shoulder line visually. The combination of white fluffy pleats and small blue bows on the arm sleeves, along with a pink bead bracelet on the wrist, adds plenty of youthful charm to the entire ensemble.

The skirt on the lower half uses a layered structure. The inner white ruffled short skirt provides full support, while the outer layer is spliced with translucent light purple tulle featuring faint background prints along the hem, making the skirt's lightness and layering stand out when moving. To fit the bunny girl theme, I chose white thigh-high stockings with deep blue criss-cross ribbons wrapped around them, paired with white high heels adorned with metal inlays to visually elongate the leg lines in frame.

For this teaser shoot of cosplay photography, I specifically selected three scenes to showcase visual effects under different atmospheres. The first set was shot against the cleanest pure white background, free of distracting elements, allowing the full color scheme of the outfit, the gradient of the wig, and the details of the Kigurumi face mask to be completely presented. Soft lighting was used against the white backdrop, giving the subject a gentle glow, resembling product promotional photos for a plush doll or figure.

The second set was chosen in a warm, retro study. A dark brown leather sofa paired with a wooden bookshelf behind it filled with hardcover books, alongside white sheer curtains and wooden flooring—the warm tones of this scene created a striking visual contrast with the cool-toned outfit. The seated posture with legs crossed on the sofa is my favorite shot, as it not only fully displays the white stockings and ribbons, but also highlights the skirt's gathers and neckline design. Because of the Kigurumi mask, my field of vision was very narrow, so I had to rely on memory, experience, and my sense of position to adjust my center of gravity. To keep the seated pose from looking stiff, I turned my body slightly and held a clutch bag at my side, making the overall lines look much more natural.

The third set shifted to a dark-toned lounge bar scene. Behind me was a glass display cabinet filled with various liquor bottles, while the table in front held playing cards, poker chips, cash banknotes, and an open silver briefcase, with a bottle of liquor and glasses beside it. The lighting in this environment was quite complex; I relied primarily on ambient venue lights and local rim lighting to outline bodily curves. Resting my hands on the tabletop under the light allowed the texture of my shoulders to show through while revealing the bow tie at the chest and the ruffled sleeves. Shooting this angle really tested wrist and shoulder strength—maintaining a relaxed look without slumping over. In a scene where reality meets 2D aesthetic like a bar, this Kigurumi style actually produced a very special gap-moe charm.

Overall, although my vision was severely restricted during this shoot due to the mask, the fixed expression of the Kigurumi mask combined with the camera's capture kept the character's expression consistently cute and composed throughout the frame. The lighting technician dimmed the ambient light and focused on brightening my face and upper body, bringing out the costume's texture beautifully. Although it's a pity this is just a preview teaser, I'm already extremely satisfied with the initial edited results. I look forward to the complete set in two weeks to bring a fuller visual experience to everyone who loves this look.
