Has summer truly passed? Although the calendar marks the arrival of autumn, we specifically built an indoor beach and poolside studio set full of summery vibes so that this Kuromi Serika swimsuit styling could be presented to perfection. Looking at the final retouched shots, we truly captured that refreshing atmosphere as if lingering in midsummer.

To authentically portray Kuromi Serika, considerable care went into the eye makeup and blush. Noticeable crimson eyeshadow and blush were generously blended around the outer corners of the eyes and across the cheeks, paired with red contact lenses to evoke a slightly tipsy, languid gaze. For the wig, I chose long deep-blue twin tails, crowned with a black-and-white animal ear headband accented with light-blue satin ribbons on both sides. To enhance a lively, dynamic feel, I deliberately left two slender blue ribbons cascading alongside my cheeks.

The swimsuit is a two-piece ensemble based in black: the top features an off-the-shoulder ruffled cut edged with white piping lines, white crisscross lacing across the chest, and black halter straps securing the neck. The bottoms are matching black boy-leg swim shorts, echoed by white stripes along the sides. Because the top is a cropped, midriff-baring design paired with an off-the-shoulder cut, it cleanly flatters the waist, abdomen, and collarbone lines. During the shoot, I went barefoot, stepping directly across the blue-and-white mosaic tiles and sandy beach set, with a delicate red cord tied around my right wrist as a personal little touch.

While shooting this set, I explored many varied postures: crossing my legs while seated on the pool steps with hands gently tucked near my chest, lying sideways across a blue-and-white checkered picnic mat with one hand supporting my cheek, or raising both arms to stretch gracefully. The photographer utilized a wide aperture, beautifully melting foreground elements—like the blue plastic tumbler and scattered faux fruits—alongside background props—such as the surfboard, red-and-white striped beach chair, and parasol—into creamy bokeh, making the subject pop boldly. The lighting simulated the warm sunshine of an outdoor summer day, washing over my skin and the ruffled hems to yield a luminous, translucent texture.

With fishing nets, ship steering wheels, lifebuoys, and anchor decor adorning the background wall, along with a yellow inflatable rubber duck, the scene brimmed with an even richer holiday ambiance and everyday liveliness. Juggling both spirited playfulness and sultry physical extension before the camera demanded continuous fine-tuning of angles and stances; this photoset ultimately preserved many moments that I feel truly encapsulate the character's charm. Participating in this doujin creators' festival was all about sharing this vibrant beachside energy through my own creative effort, documenting how this standard swimsuit look comes to life in the heat of summer.
