On the day of the shoot, the weather cleared up right after rain, leaving shallow puddles on the ground whose water reflections added rich light and shadow depth to the white stockings, making the leg lines appear softer in frame.

For props, I carried a long-handled broom. Its design is fairly rustic—a wooden handle paired with white bristles fits the daily cleaning setting of a maid well. Holding it during shooting, however, kept me thinking about pose placements, as the biggest fear with prop posing is looking stiff. In this set, I experimented with various interactions: standing on one leg while resting a hand on the broom, using the broom as a support point while sitting sideways on the curb, or even holding the broom horizontally behind my back. The goal was to blend the prop seamlessly into body movements while maintaining visual tension.

The location was chosen alongside a sidewalk outside the Guangzhou Anime Convention venue. Large glass curtain walls of modern architecture served as a background, complemented by roadside greenery and a clear blue sky, making the overall setting very clean. Outdoor natural light showcases fabric details and color textures beautifully. Temperature on that day wasn't too low, but wind protection during outdoor shoots is always important, as maid skirt hems easily catch the breeze. To capture the most natural moments, I needed to react swiftly to wind directions and lighting angles, adjusting my position to avoid harsh glare spots.

Regarding pose choices, I preferred to convey the character's lively personality rather than taking overly serious postures. For example, placing hands on hips while pointing forward creates a slightly cheeky and playful vibe; lifting one leg up lets the skirt flare dynamically to display its layering; sitting on the curb with legs naturally crossed offers a relaxed compositional angle. I strove to give every shutter click a distinct atmosphere—some expansive, others quiet and reserved—so that when Cosplay sharing a photo set, the visuals never feel repetitive.

Finally, talking about the experience from outfit preparation to the shoot itself: because it was an outdoor shoot, I paid special attention to costume security and mobility, ensuring I wouldn't get exhausted walking around outdoors. The maid dress waist fit was great, but sitting on curbs required extra care when smoothing out the skirt and apron to avoid wrinkles that could hurt photo quality. For expression management, this look required a gaze conveying innocence and focus, which paired nicely with the blue contact lenses in front of the lens.

After a full day of shooting, walking on wet ground in platform shoes was a bit tiring, but seeing the final photos where lighting, props, and personal state aligned at the best possible moments made me truly happy. That's the beauty of outdoor shooting—there are always unexpected rainy weather or harsh light interferences, but these uncertainties are precisely what give the photos a more genuine, living touch, rather than feeling overly polished and rigid like studio shots.
