Portraying this character truly started with her charming aesthetic and captivating costume design. The overall palette is dominated by soft pink, with the white fur collar and black gloves creating a striking visual contrast. Beyond the standard wardrobe, I prepared extra props—like the folding fan in hand and the red-and-white oil-paper umbrella—all to capture that authentic Japanese-style girl aesthetic from the original concept.

Whenever doing an outdoor shoot in a kimono, the biggest challenge is the sense of physical restriction. Because this traditional attire demands impeccable posture, the tightly bound obi sash and wide sleeves restrict mobility considerably. Yet this constraint is an integral part of character portrayal: even if taking tiny mincing steps, maintaining poised grace throughout is essential. Walking through the woods while hunting for optimal light, the rustling of leaves underfoot added such a wonderful ambiance.

Master Wansheng's Cosplay photography skills in capturing light and shadow are exceptionally professional. Especially in the back-profile shot (Photo 4), we repeatedly adjusted standing positions and angles on the grass to ensure both the intricate obi knot and flowing long hair were framed flawlessly. Master Wansheng constantly reminded me to tuck my chin slightly, relax my shoulders, and channel that signature blend of tsundere attitude and childlike innocence into the lens. Every click of the shutter felt like immortalizing this character's unique spring moment.

A photo that appears effortless often demands immense effort behind the scenes. From inspecting the wig and trimming the bangs the night before, to morning makeup prep, to commuting out to the suburban woods—the whole day felt like racing against the clock. Yet seeing that splash of pink harmonize with the lush green background on the camera monitor made all the fatigue instantly evaporate.

I truly adore the lighting and mood of this set: without harsh, glaring sunlight, it carries a gentle melancholic softness that beautifully echoes the contrast between Lily's youthful exterior and her inner spirit. The silver-white wig looked remarkably soft under the overcast natural light, forming a balanced color harmony with the red hair accessories. The sleeves are very long, preventing exaggerated movements, which—combined with the black gloves—made hand gestures slightly clumsy in a way that adorably fit her child-like form.

The post-processing color grading preserved the rich greenery of the background forest while subtly pulling down exposure and contrast, lending the image a retro, film-like freshness. For skin texture, we prioritized a translucent, luminous look to emphasize youthful vitality without sacrificing facial contour definition. A fun detail to share: alongside natural light, Master Wansheng used a reflector to lift the shadows, bringing out the layered depth of the white fur collar and silver wig so crisply.
