This time, I'm taking everyone to look at Arcueid's white-and-blue color scheme dress styling in Fate/Grand Order. The overall costume leans towards a rather gorgeous fantasy style, and the high-low skirt hem design (shorter in front, longer in back) nicely showcases layering when walking or posing. To match this outfit, I specially chose translucent black stockings and short black gloves. Within the overall lighter-toned blue-and-white color scheme, appropriately adding a few black elements can help anchor the look, increasing visual contrast so it doesn't appear too flimsy.
The shooting location was chosen in a studio decorated with a large amount of blue-and-white floral arrangements and a white piano. With high-key lighting shining down, the entire frame appears very translucent. For the standing pose set, I raised both hands outwards and upwards, with the wide white bell sleeves naturally hanging down. This pose makes one look relaxed and stretched, and also fully displays the fold details on the sleeves. The lace high collar at the neckline and the blue cross straps on the chest are highlights of this outfit, so I tried my best to keep the neck line upright and straight during shooting.
The sitting pose photo is a personal favorite: sitting sideways on the white piano bench, turning the body back with a glance, and resting one hand naturally on the keys. This angle excellently highlights the leg lines, the high-low skirt hem spreads out just right at this moment, and coupled with the extension feel of high heels, the overall posture carries great visual tension, while also capturing the texture of the stockings. The photo reaching out towards the lens was meant to increase the interactive feel of the frame, utilizing the direction of the fingers to guide the line of sight.
In terms of makeup, to fit the original design's feel, the colored contact lenses were chosen in a red-orange shade. The eye makeup slightly deepened the blending at the outer corners of the eyes, giving the gaze a more powerful feel. The wig is short golden-yellow hair, and the iconic ahoge on top of the head must be well-fixed with hairspray; this is the core essence of the character. Outfits with such large sleeves actually test one's posing skills because it's very easy to look like you have no hands. My little trick is to expose the wrists as much as possible, or use the black gloves to create a visual cutoff like in the photos, letting the fingers have an outward extending motion.
During the shooting process, the photographer was also constantly helping adjust the lighting and angles to ensure capturing the costume's texture and expression. The blue-and-white interspersed scene combined with this outfit maxed out the overall atmospheric feel, and the interspersing black gloves and stockings can be considered the finishing touch. The entire shooting process was very enjoyable, and the resulting photos met expectations; the details of this styling are indeed well worth a closer look.
