This time, I shot a set of Ellen Joe cosplay photos at the Shiyue Cosplay Experience Studio in Zhengzhou. The outfit is a techwear-inspired Maid outfit combining glossy PU leather with ruffled trims, boasting substantial, heavy texture. To embody Ellen Joe's cool, aloof yet gently languid demeanor, the makeup artist dedicated great care to the eye makeup; the crimson contact lenses and subtle pink streaks at the hair ends were the defining strokes.

The studio set was remarkably elaborate: wire-mesh walls, vintage CRT televisions, flickering computer monitors, and a tangle of thick cables and industrial hoses instantly conjured that chaotic cyberpunk-meets-abandoned-industrial aesthetic. The studio shoot was genuinely taxing; the costume is loaded with metal buckles and leather straps, making putting it on and taking it off a workout. The white maid headpiece adorned with red-and-black accents also tilted easily over time, requiring constant realignment.

I brought along an oversized mechanical scythe prop that felt remarkably heavy in hand. To avoid repetitive frames, photographer Shiyue and I discussed numerous pose nuances. For instance, the first sequence featured a half-crouching combat stance, holding the weapon horizontally across the torso to leverage wide-angle lens distortion for enhanced visual tension; another setup utilized a high barstool, letting the curve of the shark tail prop drape naturally along my side while elongating leg lines. Executing crouches and chair-stepping postures in stiletto heels tested my core stability intensely, yet the visual power in the final frames was phenomenal.

The lighting setup was another hero of this series. The room's key light was a cool blue tone, counterbalanced by warm amber and white accents from background screens and ring lights. This cool-warm interplay brought out rich, tactile highlights on the black leather. I was especially thrilled that several frames captured pristine catchlights in my eyes—paired with the red lenses, that detached, formidable aura snapped into place instantly.

Shooting with heavy weaponry and dynamic poses means skirts shift easily, and Black stockings risk snagging against props or sharp chair edges, so downtime was spent continuously smoothing hems and resetting hardware. Bringing these intricate elements into cohesive harmony owes immense credit to the crew and photographer. This style is a complete departure from my usual sweet aesthetics, making for an unforgettable shooting experience.
