This set of Kazami Yuuka's red-and-black plaid Lolita dress took about half a month from selecting the style to finally shooting the finished photos at the Chengdu Anime Convention. The skirt features classic Scottish red and black plaid, and I added a custom white lace off-the-shoulder top to the outer layer. The cuffs were chosen as large trumpet sleeves, so that the layering is richer when walking and posing. The black leather corset at the waist is worn directly outside and tied to the skirt, mainly to tighten the waistline and make the overall silhouette fit the character's aura better.

The prop umbrella was the focus of this preparation. The surface of the umbrella was originally white with lace borders, and I glued artificial sunflower flowers onto it one by one—ranging from large ones that could fill half a shoulder to small ones accenting the edges. Once fully opened, the entire umbrella was extremely eye-catching in the exhibition hall. The wig chosen was a light green short bob. When trimming, I deliberately asked the hair stylist to thin and slightly curl the ends of the hair. After wearing it, I added a few small daisy and sunflower hairpins. The red contact lenses match the character's setting, the eye makeup used reddish-brown eyeshadow for smudging, and the highlighting was kept relatively restrained because the indoor overhead lighting was very harsh; too much highlighting would make the face look flat.

Originally I wanted to edit and release the pictures early this morning, but washing the cat delayed the time, and I only exported the pictures in the afternoon. The venue space of the Chengdu Anime Convention was very large, but the overhead spotlights combined with the reflective floor brought some trouble to the shooting. To avoid the crowd in the background, I asked the photographer to open the aperture to the maximum, using the deep dark areas of the exhibition hall to darken the background so that the character's edges naturally stood out. Among the four pictures, the third one is my favorite, because the posture of holding the umbrella happened to allow the skirt's arc to fully expand. The black stockings paired with wine-red high heels visually extended the leg lines, while the black corset and the skirt's red plaid formed a sharp contrast, making the overall composition relatively stable.

While preparing this styling, I kept looping "flower of life" by Halozy. The arrangement structure of this song is very full, and the rhythm has a gorgeous yet slightly mysterious vibe, which provided me with a lot of inspiration for putting together this outfit. Walking around the anime convention wearing this outfit is actually quite a test of physical strength. The multi-layered skirt hem plus lace edges are very easy to be stepped on by high heels. I suggest friends who plan to make a similar style can stick an anti-abrasion patch on the heel and slightly lift the skirt hem when walking. In addition, although the leather corset has a great shaping effect, you must leave one finger's breathing space when tying it, otherwise you will easily get hypoxia and dizziness after walking around for half a day.

Black semi-transparent stockings are a must-have item for this matching. In addition to unifying the overall tone, they can also make the legs present a semi-matte texture under the complex lighting environment of the exhibition hall, avoiding excessive reflection. This convention photo session made some attempts in location selection and actions—looking back, turning sideways, holding the umbrella, lifting the skirt—basically displaying all the details of the clothes. At the anime convention, I met many friends who recognized the character, and everyone exchanged a lot of experience regarding clothing materials, which was a great gain. The overall shooting effect met expectations, and next I'm ready to slowly edit the remaining pictures.
