[Millie cosplay] A golden-texture retro studio photoshoot under warm lighting

This set of photos shot at Shiyue in Zhengzhou put a lot of thought into everything from makeup and styling to set design. The entire scene was built inside the Shiyue Zhengzhou cosplay experience hall; red velvet curtains, carved wooden sofas, crystal wall lamps, and retro oil lamps—the combination of these props directly maxed out the retro atmosphere of the entire room.
The main body of the costume is a golden halter crop top and pleated miniskirt with a metallic sheen. To neutralize the cold and rigid feel of this reflective material, a white plush shawl and long gloves were intentionally matched. On the legs, white tights were worn, paired with same-colored high heels, making the overall visual effect more unified. The wig was chosen as bright large wavy curls, decorated with white feather hair ornaments on top of the head to echo the material of the shawl. The makeup part focused on eye makeup, with light-colored contact lenses paired with elongated eyeliner to make the gaze look as vibrant as possible.
During the shoot, lighting was actually quite particular. The photographer used very heavy warm yellow light, combined with the effect of a soft-focus filter, giving the picture a hazy oil painting feel naturally. To match this light and shadow, I also tried to find some lazy and relaxed lines when posing. For example, in the group leaning against the red leather sofa, one hand stretched out to the side, legs naturally crossed and raised, allowing both the golden miniskirt and white stockings cosplay to be well displayed. The one holding the retro phone handset added a bit of storytelling through the slightly leaning body and the action of holding the prop.
The entire shooting process was very smooth. The makeup and photography team here at Shiyue is very professional, with precise control over light, shadow, and composition. As the model and post-producer, during retouching, I mainly retained the intense warm tone of the scene, slightly adjusting the skin tone and the highlight reflections of the metallic material without excessive skin smoothing, trying to preserve the real texture as much as possible. For photos like this that emphasize material contrast and light-and-shadow atmosphere, as long as the preliminary lighting is in place, post-production actually only requires minor polishing to get results.
This golden-themed pairing presents a special layer of light and shadow under the warm light, and the visual contrast formed by the white plush and golden reflective fabric is also very photogenic.
