[Alice Cosplay] A wondrous encounter between Alice in Wonderland and Daji Alice

Today, I completed an outdoor photoshoot in the park combining Alice in Wonderland and Daji Alice. The outfit is packed with intricate details: a blue-and-white palette adorned with multi-tiered lace and ruffled flounces, contrasted sharply by a black ribbon bow at the chest. Plush white Bunny ears at the crown and long wavy golden blonde tresses formed the visual cornerstone of the silhouette. To keep the wig buoyant and voluminous, I smoothed and aligned the fibers between takes to prevent tangling or flattening. Makeup leaned into delicate reddish gradations around the eyes to evoke an ethereal, dreamy charm, requiring conscious facial expression control to balance Alice's fairytale wonder with Daji's sprightly, mischievous playfulness. The petite blue waist pouch and oversized hanging golden key prop were indispensable focal accents—carrying substantial tactile heft in hand, demanding constant vigilance so they wouldn't scrape against rough tree trunks while moving. Paired with blue-and-white striped over-the-knee Stockings and white platform heeled pumps, traversing the park's grassy patches and exposed root systems required careful foot placement along uneven terrain.

The shooting location was staged around massive heritage trees draped with sprawling aerial roots, naturally forming an organic, surrealist archway tailor-made for an Alice in Wonderland theme. I explored diverse postures: leaning against weathered trunks, perching along low boughs, and executing forward-leaning standing poses. When standing, shifting my center of gravity sculpted the silhouette's sartorial cut and leg lines, while clasping both hands over the chest highlighted the bodice lace structure and bow accents. Warm golden rays poured in from the side, cleanly delineating every skirt fold and the fine knit weave of the Stockings. Given the skirt's voluminous multi-tiered architecture, transitioning between seated and standing positions required meticulous smoothing to ensure every ruffle tier cascaded naturally. Balancing atop tree branches meant keeping stable while allowing both legs to dangle freely, maximizing the visual impact of the striped Stockings. While the white platform heels provided flattering elongation, standing prolonged periods across knotted roots proved physically taxing.

Throughout the session, keeping garments crisp and hair pristine was an ongoing endeavor, yet seeing the frames materialize made every effort worthwhile. The character harmoniously fuses fairytale lore with fantasy whimsy, demanding an interpretation that balances maiden purity with spirited flirtatiousness. In composition, juxtaposing the rugged tree bark and dangling aerial roots against the delicate lace frock enhanced depth through textural contrast. The vertical blue-and-white stripes of the Stockings created clean visual extension, complementing the platform shoes to sculpt balanced proportions. Between shutter bursts, we tested dynamic perspectives—such as low-angle upward framing to accentuate statuesque height, or side profiles documenting the sweeping flare of the skirt hem. Sunbeams filtering through canopy foliage cast a radiant halo across the golden wig. I intentionally calibrated the hanging waist key so it swayed gently with motion, injecting kinetic liveliness into the composition.

Shooting spanned from midafternoon into the golden twilight hours when sunlight softened to perfection; the warm chromatic glow illuminated the translucent blue-and-white textiles, bathing the woodland sanctuary in cinematic mood. Controlling depth of field was paramount for this outdoor shoot: wide-aperture optics dissolved distracting background branches into creamy bokeh, locking sharp focus onto garment intricacies like lace scallops and metallic glints on the key prop. Textured tree bark in the foreground further grounded three-dimensional depth. The top was crafted from lustrous textile weaves that shimmered with subtle color shifts under the sun, while the delicate lace hem demanded mindful handling to prevent snags. Seated framing required spreading the rear bustle evenly to preserve volume without wrinkling the pleats. The substantial weight of the golden key tugged slightly at the waistband, needing regular realignment. Softly lifting the skirt hem exposed the striped Stockings in full, coordinating with platform heels to elongate leg lines. As evening neared, backlight and rim lighting sculpted radiant outlines along the silhouette, culminating in an immersive exploration of fairytale aesthetics that I hope resonates with everyone.
