What does it feel like to be submerged in ice water? Shooting this Lucy photo set from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners gave me the full, unvarnished experience. To recreate that frigid, suffocating atmosphere of a netrunner's dive chamber, we hauled in an entire bathtub filled with real ice cubes. The second I eased into the tub, the freezing bite crept instantly along my skin. To protect the shoot, I had to grit my teeth, hold a steely, unyielding expression, and silently chant her lines to lock into the headspace.

The glossy black patent leather bodysuit was the absolute centerpiece of the styling. Its material hugs the body tightly with high-specular reflectivity, bouncing gorgeous textures beneath cool-toned studio lights. Slipping into high-shine vinyl like this takes real effort: baby powder is an absolute necessity to don and shed the suit safely without tearing or warping the seams. The garment features crimson piping along the neck, complemented by a white diamond-shaped pendant resting cleanly against my collarbones. As a modular design, the detached semi-sheer white arm sleeves introduced rich visual layering. On my legs, high-shine black Stockings with red-and-black structural accents resonated with high-tech grit against the refractive ice.

The glowing yellow wire in my hands was an active fiber optic cable. To keep the light looking organic, I continuously adjusted my hand placement so the curvature seemed as though it were being pulled directly from neural port jacks. The surrounding set dressing was equally calculated: a stainless steel tray in the background held medical scissors, syringes, kidney dishes, and a half-emptied glass beer bottle. Together, these elements immediately conjured the lived-in grime of an underground ripperdoc clinic or netrunner safehouse—as if some cybernetic neural link procedure were about to commence the next second.

Lighting control on set was uncompromising. We deployed cool cyan-dominated strobes, slicing through the ice cubes to cast semi-translucent highlights that sharply contrasted with the deep black and crimson of the suit. During setup, a rear-flank cool rim light was dialed in specifically to outline the contour of my shoulders. In post-production, I emphasized punchy dynamic contrast and composited subtle digital glitch codes reminiscent of holographic HUDs in the foreground to heighten that signature Cyberpunk visual grit. The specular glints across the melting ice demanded micro-adjustments to keep the composition sharp yet deeply dimensional.

Capturing Lucy's unique blend of exhaustion and danger within this scene was by far the toughest challenge. Beyond cosmetic styling, everything hinged on the eyes: subtle crimson shading around the eye sockets paired with an icy stare conveyed her painful past and life within the underworld. Shivering amidst the ice cubes, I felt not just the physical chill, but the profound isolation of living on the bottom rung of a sprawling cyber-metropolis. The whole crew poured immense focus into realizing this vision, from tailored gear to set fabrication. As the ice melted and the waterline rose, the shoot grew physically grueling, but reviewing the final cuts made every icy second profoundly worthwhile. This was more than replicating an iconic figure; it was a deep dive into Cyberpunk aesthetics. Through the interplay of shadow and light, we forged that cold, mesmerizing night that belonged to Lucy. I hope this imagery conveys the raw strength of Edgerunners clawing through despair.
