On the first day of ACJOY, I went to the convention cosplaying Tomoyo Daidouji. I originally thought I would run into a whole bunch of Sakuras, but after walking around for most of the day, I only caught one, which left me a bit amused yet helpless at the time. But on second thought, Tomoyo is originally there to record Sakura anyway; since I didn't get to shoot many Sakuras, I might as well take more convention photos of myself! This uniform is Tomoyo's classic school uniform style from the anime, featuring a black base, white collar, and red trim, paired with a beret and a brown shoulder bag—I am quite satisfied with its detail accuracy. The wig is that deep violet with a hint of gray tone, and I specially styled the curves of the bangs and hair ends; paired with blue colored lenses, the overall temperament stays close to the character's gentle yet slightly playful vibe. The lighting inside the venue leaned warm, making the skin tone look very translucent, and I'm thankful to my bestie for helping capture several angles—especially the one supporting the chin, where the gaze and hand gesture were both just right. In the afternoon, the exhibition hall became crowded, but Sakuras remained scarce; it might really be because the cold weather kept everyone from wanting to do outdoor shoots. As we were leaving, we passed a reed patch next to the subway station. The setting sun was shining obliquely, creating a contrast between the withered yellow reeds and the dark uniform, so we immediately decided to go wild taking a set of outdoor photos. That sense of atmosphere under natural light is more vivid than studio shoots; the wind blew up the hair tips and collar, and the few captured snapshots feel full of narrative. Even though I didn't gather a group of Sakuras, the quality of these convention photos and outdoor shots has already made me very content. Tomoyo's power probably lies in being able to find the fun in shooting no matter the environment.
