[Takanashi Hoshino cosplay] Leisurely Moments at Firefly ACG Expo in Blue Archive

I was really looking forward to this blue-and-white ensemble during preparation. First of all, the white dress with off-shoulder ruffled design, light blue piping around the neckline, and a blue bow ribbon on the chest feel visually crisp and refreshing. For the hair accessory, the signature multi-tiered pink ring structure was used; securing it onto the long pink hair required meticulous care. To match the character's temperament, I specifically chose heterochromatic contact lenses for makeup—warm orange-brown in the left eye and clear ice-blue in the right eye. This asymmetric design is subtly captivating in its details.

The convention venue was crowded, but this shoot was specially set in a relatively quiet outdoor area surrounded by tropical-vibe greenery. The single-seater rattan sofa with thick white cushions served as a natural backdrop alongside the white dress. The strings of warm yellow decorative lights glowing between green leaves in the photos overlaid a soft ambient light on the entire outdoor setting. Outdoor natural lighting is actually excellent for Anime-style photography as it avoids harsh dead shadows while making the skin tone appear more translucent and luminous.

Today I cosplayed Takanashi Hoshino, whom everyone usually remembers from the game or anime for her unique sense of contrast. Thus, when posing for this set, I deliberately avoided rigid or tense stances, choosing instead to lean back relaxedly on the sofa. As shown in the third photo, legs extended naturally, body leaning back slightly, with one hand supporting against the white cushion behind and the fingertips of the other hand gently touching my cheek. This languid posture not only showcases the layered ruffles of the dress hem beautifully, but also captures that casual demeanor of hers—seemingly relaxed yet keenly perceptive underneath.

To achieve higher fidelity for the character, controlling facial expressions took quite a bit of effort. Facing the camera, I tried to match that subtle gaze—sleepy yet laced with a touch of sly wit. Of course, during shooting breaks, everyone joked around, with fans often teasingly calling this contrast her "oji-san" or "uncle" side. That is precisely where her charm lies—exceedingly endearing and familiar, truly allowing the entire shooting process to unfold in complete relaxation.

When the final photos came out, my favorite was this full-body seated shot, because it not only captured the tailoring of the outfit and detailed accessories, but also completely preserved the rattan sofa setting imbued with a tropical summer vibe. The small glass tabletop in front of the sofa was framed nicely in shot, subtly reflecting the woven rattan texture to enhance visual depth. Spending the weekend dressed as a beloved character and capturing Casual cosplay memories in a comfortable environment is a delightful experience. Through this ensemble at Firefly ACG Expo, I truly experienced that relaxed state to its absolute fullest.
