Today's set is centered around the 'Mr. Rabbit's Bride' theme for Alice from Goddess of Victory: Nikke. To capture that tender, ethereal atmosphere, I poured extensive care into everything from styling to color grading.
Let's start with prep and shooting. I chose a pure white bridal dress featuring a fitted lace-and-tulle bodice accented by a red heart-shaped gemstone, paired with a voluminous, multi-layered miniskirt. To harmonize with the look, I wore a light pink long straight wig adorned with white lace hair accessories. For footwear and legs, I paired semi-sheer white lace thigh-high stockings with garter belts and lace-trimmed white heels. This ensemble balanced bridal purity with a subtle touch of allure. The studio set was dressed with European arches, Roman columns, a crystal chandelier, floors scattered with purple, blue, pink, and yellow floral arrangements, and flowing white veil drapes in the background. Under the softboxes, the unedited frames already possessed a radiant sheen.
Now regarding the post-processing workflow: these are not straight out of camera. Shot on a Sony A7R3 paired with the 24-70mm F2.8 GM II, the RAW files offered exceptional dynamic range. In Lightroom, my approach was to lift overall exposure and contrast while rolling off highlights and lifting shadows, ensuring soft transitions between light and dark without harsh edges. I then subtly boosted saturation and applied an inverted S-curve. To achieve luminous skin tones, I boosted luminance and reduced saturation for orange and magenta in the Color Mixer, followed by fine-tuning Red Primary hue and Blue Primary saturation—a step essential for clean, pure whites across the frame.
After basic color correction, I created subject and background masks to balance luminance intuitively, anchoring the visual focal point squarely onto the character. In Photoshop, I proceeded with high-end beauty frequency separation, delicately refining skin texture, contours, and lighting. The final touch was a soft-glow diffusion effect, imparting a gentle, luminous bloom perfectly suited to the dreamlike 'Mr. Rabbit's Bride' concept. Throughout the shoot, I explored lifting the skirt hem, holding floral bouquets, and playful hand gestures to showcase the wardrobe from diverse angles. From set to finish, I strove to faithfully interpret her sweet yet seductive charm.
