Quite a bit of thought went into this Elysia Cosplay photoshoot, from initial prep to execution. The trickiest part about the costume was the semi-sheer, wrinkle-prone chiffon and tulle fabrics, as their translucency varied drastically across different lighting conditions. To achieve an airy, floating feel, I constantly rearranged the skirt hem during the outdoor shoot, especially to prevent it from being blown messy or stepped on. We chose the waterside as our setting, where the shimmering ripples on the water surface complemented the pink-purple dominant palette beautifully. For the first shot, I chose to look front-on toward the camera with one hand raised upward; to make my posture appear graceful and soft, I adjusted the arm tension and the angle of the rose ornament on my wrist multiple times. I worked on my leg lines prior to the shoot, which, paired with the natural water body in Waterscape photography, enhanced that elven translucency. The second, eyes-closed pose was intended to capture the fleeting moment when ribbons and Long pink hair were lifted by the breeze, requiring complete trust in the photographer's timing. Before the shoot, the wig also underwent repeated sectioning and curling so the curves of the long side locks would flatter my face shape. For the eye makeup, I deliberately used a pale purple shimmery accent to echo the extensive gradient pink-purple dress. Natural light is actually tough to control, particularly with fluctuating warm and cool color temperatures, so in post-processing we mainly applied light adjustments to the clouds and tones to reinforce a dreamy atmosphere and crystal-clear mood. Although the entire process from costumes/props to shooting was meticulous, the raw shots were already very expressive, serving as our dedicated attempt to faithfully recreate this Honkai Impact 3rd character. The weather on the shooting day was very pleasant, and special thanks go to photographer @ChaoFangbianmian—his posing guidance was incredibly patient, and his expertise in handling the translucency of sheer fabrics helped capture so many gorgeous moments.
