[Elysia Herrscher of Human: Ego Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd: A Dreamy Freeze-Frame in an Ancient Style Setting - Image 1

Today I shot this Elysia Herrscher of Human: Ego Cosplay set in an antique Chinese-style corridor for an outdoor location creative session, aiming to create a fusion and contrast between classical architecture and the character's inherent dreamy aura.

First, the costume design is remarkably refined. The pink plush animal ears paired with metallic leaf hair accessories naturally lend an elven agility. What attracted me most about the outfit is the extensive white fur paneling and neckline design, rendering exceptional texture. The pink floral waist decoration, paired with golden ribbons and tassel bells, produces a subtle, clear chime as I walk, instantly immersing me into the character's vibe. The wide, semi-transparent water sleeves combined with golden shoulder ornaments balance wuxia-like ethereal lightness with the exquisite polish typical of an Anime cosplay design.

During shooting, controlling these oversized sleeves tested my technique. To achieve that natural drape that looks as if fluttering softly in the breeze, the photographer and I coordinated repeatedly, testing arm angles and tension to spread the sleeves gracefully while keeping posture naturally upright. The photographer chose a slightly elevated high-angle shot, which clearly displayed the full outfit and highlighted my body proportion and leg lines, while cleaner composition removed ground distractions, allowing the red columns in the background to perfectly accentuate the white outfit.

For makeup, I opted for a clear and delicate style without forcing overly exaggerated anime eye makeup, hoping instead to present a natural and ethereal presence. Since the plush costume already carried a cute attribute, forced facial expressions would have felt stiff. The final gentle head-tilted-down look perfectly suits her gentle yet powerful characterization. The flat, light-colored tile floor under natural daylight created soft, minimal shadows, giving the whole set a bright, clean atmosphere.

Wearing a cosplay costume with long sleeves and high heels always poses challenges—for example, the skirt hem and sleeve cuffs easily drag on the ground, requiring constant care during the shoot to keep them clean. However, the close-up details of this outfit are incredibly photogenic; particularly under side-backlight, the edges of the white plush created a glowing rim light that shrouded my figure in a dreamy soft blur, truly feeling like a character stepping straight out of the game.

Shooting such an ethereal character setup in an ancient architectural corridor was a fascinating experience for Ancient style photography. The weight of classical history intertwined with the character's lightness, realizing a magical collision between anime fantasy and real life. Though shooting lasted all day, seeing the final photos made every bit of effort completely worth it in this Cosplayer daily life journal.
