The photos from this studio shoot of Sleeping Beauty Aurora have finally arrived, and I'd like to share the shooting details and reflections with everyone. Completing this smoothly wouldn't have been possible without the great synergy between the photographer and the studio; as a collaboration shoot, every phase—from initial planning to on-set shooting—went seamlessly.

First, let's talk about hair and makeup. For the wig, I selected long golden curls with blunt bangs, styling the wefts to look clearly layered and anchoring it with a thin black headband atop the head, which also added a vintage touch. The makeup focused entirely on the eyes: wearing blue contact lenses, with eyeliner and eyelashes elongated and widened to highlight the innocence and spirited charm of a fairytale Princess cosplay. The base makeup pursued a flawless, luminous finish, while the lip color was chosen in a warm, rosy hue. Regarding the costume, I chose a light pink lantern-sleeve blouse with a white turn-down collar featuring embroidered lace, layered over with a black corseted bodice, and paired with a purplish-brown maxi skirt below. The sleeves specifically featured purple lace splicing, adding to the overall opulence and depth of this Aurora cosplay.

To fit the forest theme, we also prepared tree stumps, a wooden swing, and an antique gold-carved mirror. The prop crew supplied remarkably lifelike squirrels, white birds, blue-and-white birds, as well as clear butterfly ornaments.

The shooting location was at the Qimi Huanjing studio in this Beijing studio photoshoot. The studio sets were meticulously crafted, with walls covered in lush greenery, climbing vines, and pink-and-white artificial flowers.

The photographer's lighting was absolutely phenomenal. Inside the studio, warm yellow lighting primarily simulated the natural sunlight filtering through the woods; particularly when the side-backlight spilled down across the golden wig, the rim lighting was extraordinarily dreamy.

During the shoot, I explored a variety of gestures, such as clasping both hands across my chest or leaning against the tree stump in the foreground, pretending to interact with the little woodland critters. There was also wrapping my head in the purple lace headscarf, lightly grasping its edge to cultivate a mysterious, elegant aura. At times, I sat on the mossy lawn, resting my chin on my hands with a gentle smile toward the lens.

This kind of atmosphere-heavy cosplay photography demands high precision in facial control and posture. Wearing a long skirt and sleeves, combined with a long, heavy wig, meant constantly keeping the hairstyle from falling apart while coordinating postures around various small props—overall, it was quite exhausting physically. But seeing the final results made everything completely worthwhile: from the set construction to the interplay of light and shadow, it truly immerses one into the Disney character. The purple headscarf worn this time was made of heavy-duty lace with noticeable drape, so during the shoot, its folds had to be continuously adjusted to appear natural on camera. Even though the little animals were props, I had to align my line of sight with their orientation to make the interaction look genuine, giving the frames a rich narrative feel. Once again, sincere thanks to the photographer and studio for helping me bring this ethereal Sleeping Beauty look to life in this Princess cosplay.
