This studio session for Nezha from The Legend of Luo Xiao-Hei was an absolute blast from initial fitting through final photo delivery. To authentically capture the character's aura, substantial effort went into pre-production details for both wardrobe and hair. The wig featured long straight dark blue hair paired with blunt bangs, styled with two upturned hair buns at the crown secured by dimensional yellow hairpins, alongside two wide crimson ribbons cascading down the back that billowed organically in motion, lending vivid vitality. For makeup, bright blue contact lenses were paired with deeply contoured eye makeup and a dark diamond mark painted squarely in the center of the forehead, giving the entire face a cool, aloof, yet stubbornly fierce youthful intensity.

The costume's structural layering is richly defined: a black high-collar inner top layered beneath a light-blue cropped wide-sleeved outer coat. The coat's collar incorporates dark blue paneling accented with silver metallic frog clasps on the chest, evoking traditional Chinese elements. The irregular dark blue patches along the sleeves echoed the oversized orange-red flame motif appliques on the pants nicely, tied together by a pale grayish-purple wide waist sash and vibrant orange wrist guards, generating striking color contrasts that stood out with exceptional tactile quality under studio lighting.

Shooting inside a pure white studio, the lighting rigorously tested color fidelity and fabric textures; the photographer's illumination was wonderfully transparent, flawlessly preserving the saturation across the dominant blue, orange, and black tones. In posing choreography, because Nezha possesses pronounced martial arts attributes, we explored numerous expansive, high-dynamic stances—such as a single-knee grounded crouching ready-stance, as well as mid-air leaping poses with one leg raised. In capturing the suspended posture propped sideways against a white cube, engaging core stability was paramount, relying on single-hand and leg support to balance my center of gravity, which proved physically taxing across multiple angles.

For close-up shots holding props or executing outward palm strikes, nailing the gaze required repeatedly recalibrating head and torso angles to ensure my eyes projected unwavering resolve. Against a pure white backdrop, garment wrinkles and seam lines are naturally magnified, so after every pose shift, the crew helped smooth out the contours of the pants and coat to keep lines fluid and crisp in the frame.

The overall experience of this TFP photoshoot was remarkably smooth, and the studio offered ample floor space for wide physical extension. Free from commercial deadlines, we had plenty of room to communicate and test variations in pose choreography and detail refinement. The finished photos achieved the exact dynamic tension and color vibrancy we had envisioned.
