For this photoshoot, the Da Vinci Building was chosen as the outdoor location, combining the natural spatial depth of classical architecture to express Emilia's ethereal temperament from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. The sunlight was intense that day, creating a classic backlighting condition that posed several challenges—such as high vulnerability to overexposure—requiring continuous adjustments of camera framing and facial angles to tame the highlights.
Regarding the costume, this semi-translucent Blue and white tulle dress exhibited fantastic translucency under strong light, subtly revealing leg lines through the skirt hem while forming stunning rim lighting in the sun. However, the downside of this material is its extreme sensitivity to wind direction; to capture the maximum flare of the skirt, I repeatedly executed multiple spins and jumps, though spinning too quickly in the early attempts caused the wig to tangle with the flowing ribbons.
In terms of hair and makeup, the color saturation of the Elf ears and long silver-white hair was emphasized, using cool silver-white and blue tones to harmonize with the intense outdoor lighting contrast. Post-processing primarily brightened shadow details while preserving the piercing quality of the natural light source. Movement choreography referenced the character's elegant standing postures while integrating dynamic skirt movement; the third photo turned out to be a flawless frontal shot with well-managed center of gravity and a beautifully voluminous skirt shape.
Though the shooting process was demanding, the seamless blend of on-site sunlight, classical architecture, and this Blue and white tulle dress created an Atmosphere that was truly satisfying.
