For this Rem photoshoot from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, preparation mainly focused on tailoring the costume silhouette and styling the hair and makeup. To match the character's blue palette, a light blue striped Lolita dress spliced with white ruffles was chosen, creating a fresh and unified overall tone. The wig was trimmed into a bob with straight bangs, paired with blue colored contact lenses. In makeup processing, excessive shading was removed to highlight skin translucency and the rounded shape of the eye makeup, capturing a manga-like aesthetic.

The shooting location was set in a white glass greenhouse surrounded by blue and purple Hydrangea blossoms. The morning light poured in through the arched windows and glass roof, providing a natural softbox effect perfectly suited for this high-key, fresh style. During shooting, taking into account the volume of the dress itself, we designed several different compositions. For example, Photo 1 is a full-body standing shot showcasing the layers of the skirt and overall proportions; Photo 2 incorporates a gentle hand-raising movement to add dynamism; Photo 3 crouches among the flowers, utilizing foreground Hydrangea blooms to create depth and contrast; Photo 4 is a close-up highlighting makeup details and eye expression.

Choosing a seated pose curling up the legs on an indoor wooden platform—the set best suited for the cover—was because it beautifully displays the details of the White stockings and leg lines while allowing light to outline the silhouette, with the green lawn and pedestrians in the background adding an authentic everyday feel. The last reclining composition used a top-down angle to showcase the delicate lace trim of the skirt hem. During shooting, considerable effort went into adjusting the skirt's arc, repeatedly checking how incoming light affected the blue stripes. It was quite sultry inside the greenhouse, and wearing colored contacts and a wig easily caused sweating, but the mood remained great throughout, fully immersed in this vintage environment filled with floral fragrance. Post-processing mainly unified the warm and cool tones, making the blue-purple hues purer while moderately brightening shadow areas to retain the natural translucency of the greenhouse. The combination of studio and location shooting made this costume look much more textured under the interplay of light and shadow, making for a memorable Cosplay photography behind-the-scenes experience.
