[Arlecchino cosplay] Polearm Scythe & Black Stockings: Your Invitation to Changsha ACC Comic Convention Has Arrived

The second round of Free Pass applications for the Changsha ACC Comic Convention is officially underway, and I'm getting ready to meet everyone from October 1 to 3 during the National Day holiday. The characters I applied for this time are Arlecchino and Kiriko.

I'm "Xiao Dangao." For this National Day convention, I put a tremendous amount of thought into everything from costume prep to makeup design. For the Arlecchino cosplay in particular, recreating the authentic textures of the outfit was paramount—the splicing of black, red, and silver gives the entire ensemble a commanding presence. What took the most effort, however, was the long-handled scythe. To ensure the prop remained sharp-looking at the venue while being easy to carry around, I modified its internal support structure, resulting in a super slick and cool look in front of the lens. For the makeup, I emphasized the eye contours to match the character's temperament, and the black stockings cosplay pairing with the overall outfit provides a sharp visual focal point.

Meanwhile, the Kiriko cosplay represents a completely different vibe. The white twin-tail wig paired with the red-and-black outfit, airy pleated skirt, and unique footwear design makes the character look full of vitality. To capture this high-quality set of photos, I coordinated lighting and framing with the photographer in advance, choosing diverse backgrounds ranging from spacious venue halls to clean studio backdrops. I personally highly recommend the bow-drawing pose shown in the pictures—it not only highlights the character's dynamic tension, but also reflects our meticulous care regarding scene composition and blocking.

The setup for this year's Changsha ACC Comic Convention is incredibly thoughtful. As seen on the posters, Halls E1, E2, and E3 will all be open simultaneously. The expansive venue and fully air-conditioned halls are absolute lifesavers for a convention during the National Day holiday. Attendees won't have to worry about the heat or overcrowding at all—we can comfortably roam around and take lots of Cosplay photography.

Furthermore, looking closely at the guest lineup, it is remarkably star-studded. On October 1: YASAL, Siyan Buchi Baozi, Julys & Viva, Qubing Xiancaodong & 42-Du Latte, Zuoyou Zhen De Xiang Shuijiao, Heiluqi, Mala Tu, Pizza, and Tanhua. On October 2: Yang Zai, Ni Shiba, Ji Ziying & Su Liuxi, Yi Jian Yue, Daqi, Huainan & Shiba, and Sanshui. On October 3: Tu Niang, Sun Lulu, Xiyu'er, Diren & Luobo D, and Shiyu. Sharing the venue with all these talented creators promises to be an absolute blast.

Applying for the Free Pass requires submitting six high-quality convention photos and completing some social media like-gathering tasks. I've noticed many fellow cosplayers gearing up for their applications; if anyone encounters difficulties during the like-collecting process, feel free to help each other out! Changsha ACC has always had a fantastic vibe, and with title sponsor Junzai Grilled Gluten on board, there will surely be plenty of delicious food and fun vendor booths on site.

Beyond taking photos and browsing the convention, visiting Changsha during the National Day holiday is also a wonderful choice. The Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center (Guangda) offers convenient transportation, and I'm really looking forward to the surrounding food and sights.
