"The falling blossoms yearn to drift with the flowing stream, yet the indifferent water rushes heedlessly past"—this poetic sentiment fits our Gongsun Li Cosplay portraying the Dance Among Flowers skin remarkably well. As the cosplayer for this shoot, I completed this photo set amidst rugged outdoor rock formations under the nocturnal sky.

Because the location consisted of natural crags, shooting proved quite challenging. To flawlessly bring out the luster and texture of this dress, photographer @CorpseKing utilized specialized lighting angles, relying strictly on subdued dim lighting as a backdrop to deepen the atmospheric mood. The costume features a blue-and-white palette adorned with numerous dimensional blue floral appliqués. The headpiece consists of large plush bunny ears with pink inner linings, which, paired with blunt bangs and long pale-blue tresses, appears remarkably ethereal.

Regarding makeup, I selected light blue contacts and cool-toned blush to give the gaze that otherworldly detachment fitting the character. To elongate body proportions, I adopted seated poses angled in three-quarters profile, utilizing an asymmetrical pairing of white Stockings and blue Stockings alongside bare feet, which beautifully flattered the leg lines to look slender and airy. Craving that sense of weightless grace, I specially matched translucent long arm sleeves, while the voluminous ruffled hem of the skirt also sculpted leg contours wonderfully.

The most difficult aspect during shooting was handling the massive blue floral prop. While lightweight, it was enormous in volume; holding it for extended periods made my arms ache, and adjusting the angle required finesse to avoid blocking lights while serving as a foreground element to enrich visual depth and guide focus. In the first shot I tried placing it by my side, but later realized it easily obstructed sightlines. The fourth photo is my favorite: propping the blossom upright in front while supporting myself on the rock with one hand preserved the complete silhouette while clearly showing the pink fabric details across the chest and the heart-shaped choker at the collar.

Because I was barefoot, the rough, jagged surface of the rocks stung after sitting for a while, but to convey the character's uninhibited yet subtly melancholic temperament, I could only cautiously shift my weight across the stone. The photographer was extraordinarily patient, continuously guiding my chin tilt and shoulder angles to chisel clean silhouettes, while gently reminding me to maintain focused intensity in my gaze. Ambient night lighting shifted quickly; we shot back and forth in the chilly wind for a long time, with the wig constantly getting tousled, necessitating several pauses for makeup touch-ups.

The greatest hurdle of this styling lay in balancing bodily lightness against the voluminous billow of the garments. Layer upon layer of skirts can easily appear bulky, requiring constant core engagement and an upright spine. Additionally, the white Stockings adorned with blue floral embellishments demanded exacting lighting in low-light environments; a slight angle shift could make the white socks look overly translucent, testing our fabric selection thoroughly in this Cosplay photography project.

Seeing the final imagery, I felt every bit of hardship was completely worth it. Whether the rugged coarseness of the stones or the tender grace of the blue gown, both blended seamlessly through light and shadow. The falling petals drifting with the stream encapsulate that pure, crystalline clarity. The synergy with the photographer was pure harmony, and with every shoot, polishing these delicate details brings genuine joy to Honor of Kings cosplayers.
