[Ahri cosplay] League of Legends Star Guardian Popstar Stage Photoshoot

This Star Guardian Ahri stage idol project has finally come to fruition—from garment pattern-making to stage lighting, the entire team worked through numerous rehearsals and adjustments. To fit the Popstar persona, we made countless refinements to the costume's details: a white bodysuit spliced with red, blue, and gold accents, with a glossy holographic skirt and golden stars serving as the visual anchor. For the wig, I selected a gradient piece that shifts from pale blonde at the roots to soft pink at the tips; this coloring catches stage rim lights strikingly under cool illumination, requiring careful color grading in post-production.

The studio space at Sanmiao Tongxue Photography provided immense creative freedom. The stage's massive LED backdrop and neon light strips created an organic cyberpunk concert ambiance, delivering an authentic live-show vibe without requiring excessive physical set construction. Because I served as the photographer and retoucher myself, I had a very clear mental picture of the exact angles and framing I needed. To accentuate the leg lines of this outfit, I specifically paired white stockings over-the-knee socks with white chunky-heeled platform ankle boots, experimenting with crossed-leg seating and high leg-lift poses in front of the camera. The snug fit of the over-the-knee socks combined with the elevation of the heels drew visual focus directly toward the silhouette of the legs. The shot on the bar stool stood out in particular, where the white stockings created a vivid, punchy contrast against the dark chair.

Stage props were equally pivotal. For this session, I prepared a rhinestone-encrusted silver microphone along with a vintage gold standing mic. My personal favorite is the pose seated on the stool holding the transparent crystal orb, framed by three massive yellow-to-pink gradient plush tails at my side; the frame boasts deep color saturation and rich visual depth. The tails are very plush and full, requiring constant positioning to support the composition without appearing bulky. In terms of posing, I tried various interactive gestures directed at the camera—such as extending an arm to close the distance with the audience, or lifting a leg slightly to convey a spirited, dynamic stage presence.

As for the makeup, to harmonize with the peachy-pink hair, both eyeshadow and lip gloss were chosen in warm orange-leaning shades. The contact lenses were blue, echoing the deep navy ribbon on the costume and the blue nebula visuals across the LED screen. Stage lighting features complex mixed color temperatures, demanding absolute cleanliness from the makeup base. I kept the foundation ultra-matte to prevent oily shine under intense light. Throughout the shoot, I continuously monitored the direction of my gaze and chin tilt, as the long wig could easily obscure my face with the slightest downward glance.

While working as both photographer and retoucher, bringing my absolute best state before the camera is part of my professional commitment. Fortunately, the studio crew assisted with lighting adjustments, allowing me to focus entirely on fine-tuning my expressions and posture. Overall, this Star Guardian Ahri stage idol look holds commanding visual impact, beautifully merging magical girl vibrancy with idol stage charisma. The Star Guardian project is progressing step by step, and upcoming plans will bring other characters' looks to life as well. Handling both photography and post-processing myself added valuable new experience in lighting calibration and color management. I hope everyone feels the passionate energy of this stage performance.
