The convention photos from Bilibili World are finally edited, so I wanted to quickly share this set of Rem convention pictures with everyone. The BW venue in Shanghai is massive as always, and the crowds were extraordinarily overwhelming, but managing to capture some satisfying photos amidst such a lively atmosphere made all the fatigue worthwhile.

Let's talk about the coordination of this outfit. The black-and-white maid costume has a strong sense of design, featuring a white underskirt layered beneath a black dress, with exquisitely detailed ruffles along the apron. To enhance the character traits, I specifically added fluffy blue cat ears and a matching plush long tail. The tail was securely fastened with a waist cincher, ensuring it wouldn't slip off whether standing or sitting. A white floral wreath hairpiece and pink hair clips adorned the head, which, combined with the bright blue wig, brought the entire styling to completion. White over-the-knee stockings were paired on the lower half, where the bow and lace decorations on the sock cuffs harmonized seamlessly with the dress, finished with black glossy Mary Jane shoes. Putting this whole ensemble together took quite a bit of time, but the outcome was truly gratifying.

Styling the wig actually took a substantial amount of effort; the blunt bangs and the curves around the temples required meticulous grooming to properly flatter the facial structure. For makeup, pink-toned eyeshadow and blusher were chosen, paired with blue contact lenses to lend the gaze a softer look. The base makeup was kept relatively translucent, as convention lighting is exceptionally complex, and overly heavy foundation tends to look stuffy under harsh lights. A touch of fine shimmer was dabbed at the outer corners of the eyes, catching the convention lights intermittently—a detail I felt suited the character's persona quite well.

The biggest challenges of shooting at an anime convention are the on-site lighting and foot traffic. The overhead lighting in the exhibition hall is flat, frequently peppered with random stage spotlights. To dodge the cluttered crowds, the photographer scouted several hidden corners. For the first photo, I chose a standing pose lifting the skirt hem, primarily to showcase the overall silhouette of the outfit, especially the arc of the skirt as it flared out. The second and fourth shots were taken while seated on a prepared white plush cushion; sitting postures allow leg lines to look more relaxed while beautifully displaying details of the garter rings and stockings. To keep the frame dynamic, I tried extending my fingers in a subtle gesture while letting the tail rest naturally behind me. The third shot is a three-quarter back profile closeup, focusing on facial expression and upper-body details. During the shoot, we constantly adjusted our angles to avoid background billboards and random passersby.

BW truly lives up to its reputation as a massive anime convention, hosting numerous talented cosplayers and photography enthusiasts onsite. While shooting this set, a large crowd gathered around to watch; I felt a bit nervous at first, but once I settled into the zone, I became fully immersed. The maid outfit fabric is relatively thick, and even inside the air-conditioned hall, wearing it left me drenched in sweat. Every seemingly effortless and natural photo is backed by countless adjustments in posture and expression. This photographer was exceptionally skilled at candid capture, handling the composition and light-and-shadow of every frame with professional finesse.

These Rem convention photos document my happy moments at BW; both the costume details and the on-site ambiance met my expectations. Organizing these photos feels like reliving the bustling energy and fatigue of that day all over again. I look forward to the next convention, where I can meet everyone with even more thoughtfully crafted stylings.
