[Alisaie cosplay] Final Fantasy XIV Sharlayan Admissions Guide

The theme for this photoshoot was the Sharlayan Admissions Guide, featuring Alisaie's red uniform from Final Fantasy XIV. The moment I saw this ensemble, I knew it would shine in an antique study setting. The garment quality is exceptional: the crimson tunic is adorned with extensive dimensional gold embroidery, faithfully recreating canonical details alongside the collared neck ties and prominent black chest bow. Pairing the white lace wrist cuffs with tailored black short gloves established crisp visual layering immediately.

For props, we prepared a hefty leather-bound red hardcover tome and a feather quill. To anchor the scholarly premise, the shoot took place inside a vintage study furnished with polished wooden bookcases and Venetian blinds. As sunlight filtered through the windows, organic highlights on the bookcase glass and timber flooring generated a warm mood requiring minimal fill light. Open books on the desk showcased classical zoological illustrations, harmonizing naturally with the quill to enrich the composition.

For hair and makeup, the white wig was textured in distinct layers, with her signature cowlick cowled and molded using heavy-hold hairspray—requiring constant vigilance to avoid flattening. Vivid blue contact lenses caught warm ambient lighting without distortion. The makeup accentuated soft under-eye blush and clean lip color to balance energetic youth with aloof intellectual focus.

To portray her composed, self-assured senior student demeanor, the posing was kept fluid and natural. Sitting with an upright spine, whether cradling the tome or lifting the quill, called for relaxed wrist articulation. My personal favorite is the second full-body frame: lifting one leg casually to the side displayed the crisp White stockings and glossy black Mary Jane shoes while elongating the leg lines. A slightly elevated camera angle integrated the uniform's silhouette smoothly with the antique study backdrop.

Due to the uniform's layered complexity, suiting up and adjusting accents took considerable time. Between takes, the photographer and I discussed backlight mitigation with bounce reflectors to preserve shadow weave, as well as angles to flatter the wig's silhouette. Whether Sharlayan bread tastes delicious remains unverified, but this uniform was a delight to shoot in such a tranquil academic haven. Post-processing preserved the original warm palette without aggressive color grading, keeping the scholarly atmosphere authentic and complete.
