For this Amiya Ballet style pose reference shoot, the primary intent was to deconstruct how to fully extend physical lines before the lens. Within the Arknights lore, Amiya's posture possesses an innate resilience; therefore, when drawing inspiration from ballet aesthetics, one cannot merely adopt limp, soft gestures—the fluid extensions must carry an underlying sense of core strength. For instance, in the single-leg lift stance, toe pointing and knee alignment require rigid control with core muscles engaged, ensuring that even with a voluminous skirt silhouette, the overall posture remains sharp rather than slouchy.

The wardrobe featured a monochrome modified maid dress topped with an oversized bunny-ear headpiece that commanded significant headroom in the frame, prompting the photographer to leave ample negative space when composing. The blue leg garter paired with mid-calf White stockings creates a distinct visual division across the leg, so the choreography deliberately drew focus to the muscular tension in the lower limbs. While the black chunky buckle shoes offered striking aesthetic appeal, executing single-leg balances in them placed intense demands on ankle stability. During practice, even the slightest deviation in arching the instep diminished that continuous line of extension. That is precisely why I adored the blue leg garter concept here; it acts as a visual anchor guiding the viewer's gaze fluidly down the leg contours. Amiya's specialized gloves and finger guards also dictated that during skyward points or subtle caresses, the hands could not relax completely—they had to maintain a poised tension akin to classical ballet hand positioning, yet imbued with combat readiness. The white floral bouquet served both as a prop and as a counterbalance for core stability; poses that appeared weightless actually involved a firm, focused grip in hand.

Collaborating with Cookie Vision on this project was exceptionally smooth. The stark white cyclorama backdrop paired with high-key lighting thoroughly tested fabric finishes and clean postures, leaving no ambient shadows to mask imperfections. To achieve this unblemished aesthetic, strobe positions and angles were recalibrated repeatedly to nail exposure, crisply defining the ruffled contours along the black-and-white seamlines. We often ran through a single movement across multiple takes until the skirt's natural drape and eye focus achieved complete harmony. The transparent acrylic chair and round table in the set served as spatial anchors and depth transitions—when seated, pointing the toes onto the floor visually elongated the calves.

This shoot was immensely rewarding. Developing ballet-inspired pose references requires balancing pure aesthetic grace with the character's intrinsic personality traits. Undertaking these projects focused on kinesiology and postural deconstruction continuously deepens my grasp of camera awareness and corporeal expression, marking another step forward in enriching character portrayals through refined body language.
