[Amiya Cosplay] Arknights' Amiya: An Echo Across Ten Thousand Universes

This knight attire with white garments and blue accents is a version I personally adore. Compared to an operator's complex combat uniform, the lines of this ensemble lean more toward elegance and resolve, much like a young maiden waiting for orders in the morning light.

To present the finest texture, a great deal of effort went into refining the props. That greatsword interwoven with black and cyan features crisp geometric facets in its design, with a subtle weathering treatment on its surface. Rather than acting merely as a visual weight, it aims to convey the traces of long-term combat. It has a significant weight in hand, requiring adjustments to arm strength during the shoot so it appears natural and not clumsy before the camera lens.

The combination of the pointed horn structure and rabbit ears on the head is one of the visual centers of gravity for this character. The black geometric structures paired with a plush texture create a wondrous balance between hard and soft elements on this character. During the shoot, special attention was paid to the coordination between the headpiece and the hair strands from different angles so it wouldn't look overly bulky. Coupled with the silver-painted arm guards and clawed fingertips, with every clenched fist and every parry of the hands, I strove to let that sense of elite operator oppression coexist with softness within the frame.

For the makeup choice, instead of employing overly heavy colors, we emphasized the textures of the eyes and lips. Opting for a warmer-toned dark red eyeshadow to smudge the edges created a warm-cool contrast with the ice-blue colored contacts, beautifully echoing that imperceptible trace of melancholy and resolve. The lips were clearly primed and given a glossy finish to maintain her aloof and cool aura, preventing her from looking too washed out under the warm top lighting. This was actually a challenge, as top lighting easily exposes makeup flaws, but it is precisely because of this high contrast that the shadow textures of the facial features became more dimensional.

The shooting process for this set of photos was actually quite quiet. With high top lighting plus a single-sided warm light source, control over the face needed to be highly stable when first starting out. To capture that expression suspended between scrutiny and bewilderment, repeated practice facing the camera during the freezing moments was essential. I am also extremely grateful for the photographer's compositional experimentation this time, such as those slightly low-angle shots that made the character's posture look taller and more reliable, while still capturing her feminine curves.

The ruffles and layered pleats on the garments exhibited rich light and shadow variations under the illumination. The white fabric didn't appear monotonous at all; instead, filled in by shadows, it gained an enduring charm. The circular badge featuring starburst elements on the chest is one of the symbolic characteristics of this outfit, simple yet exceptionally prominent in the composition. The blue choker and beaded necklace, interspersed amidst the pure white, completely prevented the coloring from looking thin.

Although I don't know if everyone has seen the character's forms in different universes, in my eyes, the core remains that composure belonging to a maiden knight. This composure isn't expressed by shouting slogans; rather, it is embodied through those resolute eyes and the weapon that has never slipped from her grasp. During this shoot, I once again appreciated the care put into the countless details of this design—many Velcro buckles hidden on the forearms and gloves were entirely meant to better accommodate physical engine collisions during roleplay.

When shooting, we focused not only on facial close-ups but also attended to the proportions and momentum of the overall styling. Even in those quiet moments, as long as the lens and lights were in position, the character would swiftly enter the zone. I tried my best to keep my expressions restrained, letting the weight of emotion convey itself primarily through my gaze. This costume is highly exhausting physically; the physical constraints of the metallic reflective pieces and hard armor are completely real, but it is precisely this constraint that allows me to feel myself drawing closer to the soul of that character.

Recreating a character isn't merely about dressing up neatly; it is about understanding her combat logic and daily routine. This shoot journal can be considered a small summary of my comprehension of this character set. I still believe that through sophisticated props, meticulously thought-out hair and makeup, and the strictly controlled light and shadow atmosphere before the lens, the character's essence can be preserved as much as possible.
