[Hoshiguma cosplay] Arknights: Hardcore Lungmen Guard Department Night Street Motorcycle Style Recreation

This outdoor Motorcycle photography shoot featuring the Lungmen Guard Department finally came together quite smoothly.

There was plenty to prepare before the shoot. This black leather bodysuit was extremely thick and completely non-breathable, but to capture that powerful, commanding effect, I had to power through wearing it. The white horn on my head was secured with adhesive, requiring constant vigilance to ensure sweat didn't loosen the glue. The motorcycle was specially borrowed for this shoot; the strong reflections from its painted body added an extra layer of difficulty to the photography.

Since this was an Arknights Hoshiguma cosplay, I couldn't just throw out a few generic poses. The core temperament of Hoshiguma is steadfast composure and cool detachment, so my movements couldn't be too exaggerated. My gaze had to remain relatively relaxed yet vacant, using the framing of long hair to create an imposing pressure. During prior practice, I found maintaining balance on the motorcycle quite tricky—especially propping a leg up against the fuel tank without being overly tense or too slack. The photographer guided me from the sidelines, advising how to engage core and abdominal strength to stabilize my posture. Because the motorcycle was very heavy, pushing and adjusting its position drained significant stamina. Furthermore, the chain and engine had numerous grease details, which could easily soil the freshly donned bodysuit if I wasn't careful. From putting on motorcycle gloves to adjusting viewing angles for natural alignment, we experimented repeatedly to dial in that exact feel. Many poses that appear effortless on camera were actually held while my body was suspended mid-core.

The shoot took place curbside next to railings against a dark background, relying primarily on lighting to illuminate both subject and bike. The lighting cast crisp, hard highlights onto the leather outfit, exactly matching our vision. Once the light and shadow hit, the character's silhouette stood out boldly, instantly drawing out that cool, rugged aura. The motorcycle wasn't easy to maneuver either; pivoting angles in place required serious arm power, and gripping the handlebars in leather gloves was cumbersome, yet I persisted through every pose to ensure natural posture. I remember repeatedly fine-tuning my sitting posture to accentuate leg lines until my propped leg went completely numb. For a moment it felt quite uncomfortable, but hearing the photographer's shutter clicks assured me the state was spot-on.

This experience showed me that cosplay isn't just about putting on a costume, but adapting to the physical constraints imposed by the gear. The combination of a motorcycle and Night street photography demands a powerful presence to anchor the frame. I personally love the light and shadow treatment in these photos—the nighttime streets echoing streetlamp reflections carry a distinct cyberpunk edge, fitting the urban lore of Lungmen flawlessly. To match this hard-boiled style, the makeup was deliberately toned down into matte darks without flashy glitter.

I am very pleased with the final chosen photo; the composition and ambiance were balanced just right. When portraying characters with hardcore elements, the sense of strength behind movements is essential. I believe anyone viewing these photos can feel that speed and raw power. Night shoots rely heavily on the right timing and conditions; we were fortunate that evening with no sudden gale winds, clear air, and street scenery free of chaotic clutter. Though physically exhausting—especially moving back and forth in this outfit—the final presentation was thoroughly gratifying. It was a wonderful attempt at challenging such a hardcore character.
