Tremendous dedication was poured into the styling and makeup for this Shu - Spring Banquet photoshoot. The wig incorporated a dual weave of platinum blonde and vibrant bright yellow; to resonate with the Spring Banquet concept, I braided a thick, deep-blue plait along the side, accented with soft pink-and-white floral blooms. Attaching the Elf ears required careful edge blending, keeping the skin base immaculate while brushing reddish-pink eyeshadow across the lids alongside blue lenses to embody the character's serene, enigmatic grace.

Regarding the wardrobe, a bright yellow camisole top was layered beneath a magenta open overshirt, bordered by cascading tiers of crisp white ruffles. To ensure garments held dimensional structure before the camera, slightly firmer, textured fabrics were selected. Yellow gloves, a matching yellow choker, and beaded necklaces echoed one another seamlessly. The blue horns crowning the head were bespoke props sculpted from lightweight clay and resin, finished with a smooth gradient blue coating—though somewhat hefty, their presence on camera was phenomenal. The hairpin was also carefully selected in a dark, stylized bamboo-joint design.

The shooting location took place within a classical Jiangnan-style garden adorned with wooden balustrades, bluestone corridors, and lush verdant foliage. Sunlight filtered down through the leaves, casting dappled light across the garments and hair to create richly saturated chromatic contrasts. While the outdoor temperature was pleasant, wearing multiple garment layers alongside heavy braids and props naturally worked up a sweat; prolonged wear of contact lenses and Elf ears also caused mild fatigue, necessitating frequent touch-ups and adjustments.

This series aimed to evoke an aura of quiet contemplation. Leaning against wooden balustrades or standing framed between corridor pillars, my gaze drifted away from the lens, conveying a sense of patient waiting or fond remembrance. The photographer utilized foreground foliage blur to build spatial depth, while wide apertures dissolved the lush background into shimmering bokeh, crisply accentuating the subject.

The Spring Banquet motif naturally carries poetic elegance. To honor this mood, exaggerated poses were avoided in favor of calm, gentle leaning and three-quarter turns. Within this classical garden, every leaf and branch served as an exquisite backdrop. The core palette of yellow, purple, and white—accented by vivid blue touches—leaped out brilliantly against the green natural landscape.

The entire shoot was immensely fulfilling. From early preparations of garments and props to communicating with the photographer on set and fine-tuning post-production color grading, every step aimed to deliver the highest standard of artistic expression. Deeply loving Shu as a character, I strove for fidelity across every detail: the folds of the ruffles, the arrangement of beads, and the chromatic harmony of hair ornaments. I hope this Spring Banquet series conveys her distinctive temperament to everyone.
