This time at the Xiamen Anime Convention, I finally got to wear this masquerade-style outfit of Honkai: Star Rail Sparkle. A lot of thought went into the entire coordination from the wig to the props, especially that black top hat with rabbit ears and the iconic red-and-white checkered pattern. I'm quite satisfied with the accuracy. The photographer found a relatively clean area in the exhibition hall, using the venue's original cool-toned lighting paired with low-saturation post-processing, making the main red color scheme and pink twin-tails pop even more. The weapon was specially customized and feels very heavy in hand. During the shoot, to strike that "I control the entire floor" pose, we adjusted the positioning for several rounds. The two black and white little rabbits floating on both sides were added in post-processing, visually giving the frame a bit more of a fairytale and fantasy vibe. The shots with scattered playing cards were captured on-site, utilizing a reflector for fill light to create the translucent look of the hair strands. The wig used high-temperature fibers; although the floating effect is great, it's really time-consuming to maintain, requiring re-combing after every shoot. For the makeup, I intentionally deepened the blush under the eyes, paired with red contact lenses, wanting to highlight her chaotic, playful yet dangerous temperament. The low-angle shot while sitting on a prop chair has a powerful aura, while the standing composition supporting the weapon with one hand displays more confidence. The convention site was crowded and noisy, but we chose to shoot close to closing time, making the background much cleaner. This time was not just about getting photos, but a complete character experience. Standing in front of the lens in this outfit, I felt like I truly entered that Star Rail world full of tricks and laughter. Every single image went through meticulous selection and editing, hoping to convey Sparkle's charm and that slightly rebellious cuteness through this cosplay project.
