[Feixiao Cosplay] The General of Honkai: Star Rail, This Cosplay Photoshoot Is Finally Ready

When I first got this set of gear, I was actually quite nervous because Feixiao's design has so many intricate details. From the hair texture of the white beast ears to the complex cloud patterns and metallic pieces on the clothing, every part tested our patience during preparation. Special thanks this time to my wig stylist teacher; while I often study wig styling myself, seeing the gradient and fluffiness of this wig made me innerly shout, "This wig styling is divine!" The layered trimming and root detailing were executed cleanly, especially the cyan-blue transition at the hair tips, which looked remarkably translucent under outdoor light without any cheap reflection, instantly elevating the character texture to a whole new level. For my makeup, I used a cool-toned base, slightly elongated my eyebrows, and added the golden diamond mark on my forehead, which anchored the overall tone nicely on camera. I chose contact lenses with an icy blue feel, which, combined with contouring, made my facial features look more three-dimensional.

On the day of the shoot, we chose two location spots. For the outdoor water-edge set, the layering of flowing water and rocks was inherently fantastic. The photographer captured several dynamic poses; although slinging that long blade onto my shoulder really tested my arm strength while posing, seeing the shine of the weapon and the angle of the trench coat billowing in the wind in the final photos made all the hard work completely worth it. Particularly the angle sitting on the rock, which perfectly displayed the boot strap design and leg lines, serving as a composition point I personally adore. Then came the indoor wooden door—the dark tones of classical architecture and warm yellow lantern light formed a striking contrast with the cool white and cyan-blue of my outfit. Standing right in the middle of the threshold, the door frame naturally formed a picture frame, enclosing the full lines of the costume within; without forced poses, simply standing firm radiated an imposing aura.

Actually, every time I do an outdoor shoot, I bring a small tool kit with me. Items like small copper buckles on the cuffs and red tassels at the waist easily get tangled or detach while moving, so touch-ups and maintenance happen frequently. Because the wig had a huge hair volume this time, it blew messily in the wind, but fortunately, the stylist made an adjustable invisible cap base, so a gentle adjustment restored its shape. By the end of the shoot, the photographers were having a blast. Although the preview photos haven't all been returned yet, I'm already extremely satisfied with the ones I've seen so far. Costume, makeup, and props sharing truly sets the ceiling height during early prep, and I was fortunate this time to work with such a reliable team. For cosplay, I believe high-quality costume, makeup, and props serve as the foundation to bring a character to life, but even more important is one's state during shooting—infusing that sense of confidence and heroic flair into the performance. When I have free time in the future, I might wear this outfit to anime conventions; after all, it would be a shame not to take more photos with such amazing hair styling. I hope the rest of the preview photos maintain this high standard.
