[Barbara Cosplay] Idol's Summer Charge Moment: Suiting Up in Energetic Sailor Gear

Putting on this summer sailor outfit as Genshin Impact Barbara, I found a large mirror in the studio to complete this set of mirror selfies. To restore the character's refreshing feel, the light-blonde pigtail wig was specially styled with a natural fluffiness. The large blue and white bows and flower accessories on both sides of the head were securely fixed, so there was no need to worry about them shifting or slanting upon movement. The outfit's overall white-and-blue color palette flatters skin tones immensely, while the bright orange sailor necktie on the chest serves as the visual focus of the top, giving the whole look an energetic boost. The jacket's hem features intricate lace trim and cross patterns, paired with the inner dark blue high-cut bodysuit, which nicely extends leg proportions and visually elongates the silhouette.

The white daisy leg ring on the thigh not only flatters leg contours but also adds plenty of summer and anime flair. The small yellow duck plush bag hanging at the waist is the soul prop of the whole styling, matching the sailor theme seamlessly; whether held in hand or attached to the hip, it produces a super cute visual effect, and the little duck wobbles as I move, which is adorable. The clear-soled floral high-heeled sandals were specifically chosen: the blue straps wrapped around the ankles unify with the blue details on the skirt hem and headpiece, while the yellow and white flower decorations on the upper echo the colors of the sailor necktie.

During the shoot, I intentionally tried different standing poses. The first and fourth photos are relatively static straight-on shots, fully showcasing the outfit's layers and drape. Meanwhile, the dynamic pose in the second and third photos—where I lifted one leg, leaned slightly forward, and extended outward—required a bit of adjustment to find my balance in front of the mirror, but it highlighted leg lines and floral shoe details much better, giving the frame a livelier feel. The studio's dark grid ceiling paired with bright downlights provided very soft lighting, making my skin look clear and luminous without needing extra reflectors. The nearby message board, checkered tablecloth, and tall stool behind me added a touch of cozy life context to these selfies, keeping them from looking overly staged.

When recreating Genshin Impact Barbara, I strived to capture that vibrant, friendly, and idol-like cheerfulness in every accessory detail and overall mood. While this outfit's tailored cut would look even better on location at a beach or pool, this indoor shoot achieved a bright, clean look in its own right. The key to this Sailor suit cosplay look lies in its refreshing color scheme and airy accessories—seamlessly connecting the lines between the high-cut bodysuit and the leg ring, plus ensuring the flower sandal straps don't slip, will easily net you great photos. For makeup, I avoided heavy eye makeup, focusing instead on naturally curled lashes and soft blush to complement the dreamy aura of the golden wig. There are countless small details throughout the ensemble; just the cross motif and trimmed lace ruffles took immense thought, creating wonderful layers when worn. Being able to portray this character with such summer vitality was truly a joyful photoshoot experience.
