Portraying Barbara by the poolside today! Barbara, go! This sailor-style swimsuit incorporates classic elements from the Genshin Impact character. To recreate her radiant, energetic charm, the makeup featured a fresh, translucent base paired with turquoise-blue contact lenses, keeping Barbara's signature innocent eye look. The wig features golden twin-tails, and styling the spiral curls at the tips took quite some time; plenty of setting spray was applied to maintain their bouncy curvature even outdoors. The location was set at a water park where outdoor natural light was abundant, and using a wide aperture gave the shimmering water in the background a gorgeous bokeh. The sleeves of this outfit are detached wide flared sleeves, which easily shifted out of place when holding props or posing, requiring constant adjustment. The pose reaching out toward the camera in Photo 1 was done by inching closer to the lens to produce a dynamic perspective filled with vitality. In Photo 3, folding my hands over my chest reflects Barbara's classic prayer and singing gesture, where softening the gaze helped channel genuine encouragement as if cheering someone on. In Photo 4, leaning against the lifebuoy and glancing back over my shoulder was intended to show off the swallowtail hemline at the back of the swimsuit; the skirt has lovely layering, though going barefoot along the pool ledge required extra care since I wasn't wearing heels. The yellow chick bag across my body was an added prop to boost the cuteness factor. The biggest challenges of shooting poolside were managing the bright sunlight, sun protection, and keeping makeup waterproof. Even though the water was cool, shooting under the sun inevitably caused sweat, but thankfully the pre-makeup hydration and setting spray held up wonderfully. For cosplayers shooting at water parks, beyond personal safety and gear waterproofing, testing garment fabrics in advance is essential—some materials deform or become heavy once wet. Barbara is such a warm-hearted character; her Hydro abilities heal teammates in combat, and in lore, she shines as everyone's little sun. Throughout the shoot, I kept reminding myself to smile sweetly and embrace expansive, lively poses. I hope this summer swimwear photoshoot brings everyone a refreshing, cooling breeze—the sound of the water and gentle winds by the pool were truly relaxing.
