[Herrscher of Domination Cosplay] A Starry Snowy Night in the Genshin Impact World

This blue-purple color scheme styling paired with a star-ring headpiece carries the ethereal grace of a starry snow night, and it is also a photo set into which I have poured a relatively large amount of energy regarding Cosplay post-processing recently. The light and shadow conditions on the day of the shoot coincidentally matched this dreamlike baseline, giving me many expectations for the final visual presentation.

Speaking of this costume, to highlight the aura of the Herrscher of Domination, I paid special attention to the reflectivity of the fabrics when choosing the clothing. The large purple bow and the blue-purple shawl bear fine golden shimmering threads, presenting a highly charming texture under the camera flash. The white off-the-shoulder top is an excellent balance, both highlighting the collarbone lines and preventing the overall colors from looking overly heavy. The elbow-length gloves worn on the hands and the purple strappy sandals on the feet count as a symmetrical supplement to the overall vision. Although the diamond patterns and pearl decorations on the gloves are minor details, they played an excellent embellishment role in the final cuts of this Purple style outfit.

The scene for this shoot was arranged in an indoor setting studio, selecting iron white chairs, Roman columns, and white and pink flower clusters as the backdrop. In post-production tones, I focused heavily on applying fine-tuning of levels and high-low frequency separation techniques to preserve the original skin translucency while giving the glitters in the highlights a more granular feel. For messy elements in the background, I ensured absolute cleanliness of the frame center through blurring and masking methods. The entire photo set uniformly adopted low-saturation blue and violet as ambient colors, making the hot-and-cold contrast relatively gentle, perfectly solidifying the Dreamy atmosphere.

During shooting, capturing the momentary sense of dynamics is highly challenging; for instance, flexible hand movements or the moment of slightly lifting the eyes both require finding the most relaxed body state. The sitting posture in the image was adjusted many times before reaching the most natural effect, which neither looks rigid nor fails to display each highlight of the entire makeup and styling. During the shoot, the photographer and I actually had many discussions about actions, such as how to make the glove texture more eye-catching or how the shawl should swing to generate a flowing feel. I attempted a bit of a micro-dynamic technique, so that even in static film, one can still perceive the character's agility instead of a stiff, dead scene.

As an enthusiast who regularly shoots cosplay, I believe the complete closed loop from costume, makeup/styling, and lighting to post-production is the core to making a character present completely. Especially for this high-brightness purple-toned creation, it particularly tests post-production's grasp over color temperature and light ratio. If the color temperature leans cold, the character's skin tone easily looks pale; if it leans warm, it destroys this cool elven feel. A tiny suggestion for friends who love similar same-color cosplay: when shooting this type of scene with a large amount of purple and white casual garments, the model can try more backward-leaning postures, which is exceptionally helpful for letting the clothes and shawls drape naturally to generate a casual wrinkle effect. This is a highly rewarding creation, blending elements loosely inspired by the aesthetics of the Genshin Impact world into a unique visual statement.
