[Barbara Cosplay] Genshin Impact Deaconess Location Shoot Record

This set of Barbara's cosplay costume is finally taken out for an outdoor location shoot. Barbara's outfit in Genshin Impact has so many details; just tidying up the bow on the back and the two ribbons with anchor patterns before wearing it took a lot of time. The fabric overall is a slightly crisp material, and the white and blue color scheme looks very clean under natural light, though the off-the-shoulder design is still a bit chilly when the wind blows outdoors.

For this location selection, we deliberately found a square with European-style pillars and a clock tower; this architectural background matches Barbara's pastoral style very well. The shooting day was overcast, and the diffused light was very soft without harsh shadows, making it especially suitable for shooting this kind of white-dominated costume. The first shot, a low-angle back view, was mainly to showcase the tailoring of the back of the costume. Shooting from a low angle upwards not only elongates the character's visual proportions but also fully incorporates the background clock tower into the composition, creating a strong sense of perspective, with the cross anchor ribbon and white hat on the back as the visual center. However, when shooting from a low angle, you need to pay attention to slightly tucking in the chin, otherwise it's easy to make the face look round. The side-glancing pose also nicely showcases the layering of the twin tails.

The second shot, a side-sitting posture, was completed on the steps. Because I was wearing white stockings, I paid special attention to the leg angles and light reflection during the shoot. Extending the legs forward with the heels slightly wedged on the edge of the steps maximizes the leg lines under a side lens. The white stockings and black-and-white color-blocked platform shoes paired with this outfit visually flatter the leg shape very well. Holding the prop bag with a blue badge in hand adds vitality to the frame. During the shoot, the photographer kept reminding me to relax my shoulders, because maintaining a straight-backed posture for a long time is really tiring, especially while balancing the placement of the skirt hem to prevent wardrobe malfunctions while keeping the skirt fluffy.

For the makeup part, to fit the character, the base makeup was kept clear and translucent, and pinkish-orange eye shadow was used to add a vibrant feel. The wig is light-golden long curly hair; when wearing twin tails, the wig is prone to tangling, so it needs to be combed with wig care solution in advance and sprayed at any time during shooting breaks. The white hair accessory on the head is fixed to the wig with hairpins, and many bobby pins were used to prevent it from falling off. The overall styling leans light, but the weight of the accessories is concentrated on the head and waist; after shooting for a long time, the cervical and lumbar spines still feel a bit sore.

In outdoor location shoots, besides styling and posing, the most important thing to watch out for is preventing wardrobe malfunctions with the skirt hem. The ground is uneven cobblestones, so you have to lift the skirt hem when walking. Overall, the texture and photo-output effect of this outfit are very good; the white and blue contrasting colors stand out brilliantly against the gray-white background architecture. Post-processing only requires a slight adjustment of contrast and color temperature to create that quiet atmosphere. Today's shooting experience has also made me more proficient in controlling large outdoor skirts.
