[Bai Feng Cosplay] Elegant Bai Feng of Azur Lane: Cool and Alluring Charm

This Bai Feng look underwent a long polishing process from the initial makeup test to the final photo release. For the wig, I selected matte-textured long straight white hair; the gathered structure at the crown had to be firmly secured with invisible bobby pins, otherwise it would fall apart with any movement. For makeup, the focus was placed on blending the eyeshadow and extending the eyeliner, utilizing cool gray and purple tones to highlight the character's aloof coolness. Paired with light-colored contact lenses, this made the detached gaze feel more natural. The costume is a modified wide-sleeved kimono style—the extensive white chiffon fabric is very light and airy, but the dark embroidery on the waist sash and collar required manual alignment to ensure the V-neckline showcased the collarbones without risking any wardrobe malfunction. For the stockings, I intentionally chose an opaque matte style so that the leg reflections while reclining wouldn't be overly distracting while still beautifully contouring the legs.

During the shoot, we arranged purple-pink faux cherry blossom branches paired with a dark solid wood carved lounge chair, creating a serene, lazy nighttime garden stroll vibe. The second full-body reclining composition is my favorite: the delicate curve of my left hand lightly holding the flower branch was carefully practiced—keeping the fingers relaxed yet lightly poised at the tips to express strength within gentleness. Meanwhile, the crossed-leg posture had to balance my center of gravity while allowing natural fabric wrinkles to form at the knees of the white tights. The photographer adjusted several angles repeatedly to capture the most effortless, relaxed feel. In post-processing, we avoided excessive skin smoothing, only unifying the overall color tone toward a cool purple palette while preserving the lustrous details of the hair and fabrics.

As a cosplayer, whenever portraying such an aura-driven character, I always remind myself to keep facial expressions restrained—pressing the lips slightly rather than smiling, and casting the gaze slightly downward rather than staring directly at the lens—to convey that aloof, slightly tsundere nuance. The complexity of this look lies in the multi-layered garments; during shooting, we had to take care to keep the wide sleeves and hair strands from catching in the carved woodwork crevices, requiring on-site assistance from an assistant. A large part of Bai Feng's charm stems from that ethereal, otherworldly atmosphere, and the contrast between white and dark embroidery shoots wonderfully in low-light environments. If I do a similar Ancient style cosplay shoot next time, I'll try adding some mist effects, which should make the foreground and background depth feel even dreamier.
